3G 5AT vs 2006 330i AT

I haven't officially raced one but I had a small encounter today.

I was side by side with 330i and it launched a tad bit quicker than I did. I followed him and was able to keep up or catch up. But he didn't wanna take it over 30MPH.

What's the chance both cars being stock and AT? I think it depends on who can get on gas pedal first after light goes green.

the new 330i 6sp is very fast. BMW geared those very aggressively, which also leads me to believe that aren't going to be as reliable as the previous generation 330i but I could be wrong. I am sure they are very fun to drive also. Get some bolt on's on your TL and you will beat up on the 330i's though.

um.....i would say the new 330i 6sp AT is not that fast....becuz my girl own one,and last few days i told her to flooring and let me feel how fast is that...they are fast in low rpm,but in high rpm,i would say a stock TL-S(hit V-Tec) will catch up or even a bit faster than a 06 330i 6sp AT....i dunno about the MT one..

but if you guyz are talking a 3rd gen 5AT vs a 06 330i AT,i would say the 3rd gen in higg rpm will faster than a 06 330i AT...

Hey Bread-A Spec,

Care to explain what makes your '03 TL-S an "A-Spec"?

I'm not to sure about this but i heard from other people on the forum that Canadian TL-S also came in a special trim called A-SPEC. Like I said before I'm not too sure.

I cant tell if thats sarcasm or not, but there was an A-Spec option here in Canada, The cars came in blue or black with a full bodykit, a special interior package that included blue inserts and stitching.

Ok, cool. Thanks. I really didn't know there was an A-Spec option in Canada for the 2G.

yeah exactly what I felt when I was with that guy last week on the road. I couldn't keep up at launch but caught up as my VTEC lobe went to high profile.

Could've done without all the

I have a 3G TL; doesn't mean I have to know about 2G, let alone Canadian specs/trim levels/pkgs.

Also, your English sucks.

Ok, back on topic.

How can you tell how fast a car is just by sitting in it while someone else drives?

ok boys, let's not turn this thread into an argument.
If we want to argue, we need to base them on facts. I need someone with a 5AT 3G-TL to do a run on a track and tell us their 1/4 time. Or simply take your car on a straight away and test now fast it is from 0-60mph. Do the same with a 2006 5AT BMW 330i and we can see the difference.
Otherwise, it's just all nonsense here.
