3 g tls owners.
for any tls owners with automatic beware. rev limeter slipage has been reported on many including my manual version and is not covered under warenty. if happens disconect battery for 30 seconds before the dealer vistit. valves run about 4 grand for the set so be carfull. batery disconect should reset diagnostics comp.

yes it passes redline. and if u ever bend a valve the computer registers it as a mishift wich isnt under warenty. mine has a problem with the clutch slipping and it just starts revlimiting and one day it sliped after vtech engaged and it shot to about 12gs and i emediatly new i bent something due to hondas and there sigle cams unabilty to rev high. i pulled over and there was a missfire. they took a look at it and said the engine overspeed limit was exedded and it wasnt covered but i made a scene because they tryed to charge 3800 for new valves and i personaly left the comp stock just for warenty wich made me mad. they covered it tho after a day or two of phone arguments. my friend at the dealer told me that disconecting the bat resets he comp so u wont have that prob. it is more comon on the automatic due to the vevlimit shift stop. wich is not letting u shift a gear if the rev limiter is engaged. thats when the comp glitch somehow happens. and yes if u dont push it u should be cool. or on auto just dont rip tiptro.

Seems to me the Automatic should NOT be a problem.
Since I cannot mis-shift it UNLESS the computer control fails, this problem should ALWAYS be covered under warranty.
IOW - the only way I can over-rev the 5AT is if the Rev Limiter fails on the way up or the computer fails and incorrectly allows a down-shift to an over-rev condition. Neither one is my "fault".

pretty sure if you rev'd to 12g's your motor you'd have more than a bent valve
go on about the issue, what gear did this occur, you drive a manual, so how do you know there is an issue with the auto
concerned tls auto driver... thanks for the fair warning, I rarely shift in ss since I've found automode to make better power shifts from 3rd to 4th

its a computer glitch. my friend had the auto version and it did the same thing exept it alowed him to overev in a downshift. if u dont push it to much u shouldnt have a prob.in my area there are about 5 with this prob and 3 of them are auto. the man version seems to have a clutch slip do to too much power. it sometimes doesnt grab when vtech pops and it just revs up to red line and limits. but that one time i watched it not limit.it wasnt a fun site. and no nothing elses broke just 3 bent valves. these motors are built very well and i have no problems with it and have heard nothing exept this overrev prob so we all should be kool. the only prob with the man is the 3 gear sinc. it pops out of gear alot. w/e just a heads up cause it has been happening in my area. this car is one of the best overall platforms honda has put out yet and im planning on keeping it till my kids are in the back seat. ive driven built ef's to the nsx and this car rips just as hard in a straight line and as well on the track. well nsx mops trackwise tho lol. but its up there. im trying to get a meet togethere at seabring raceway in central florida so we can all hit up the track for a day or so if anyone is down. if anything id love to just see all the tl-s's at a meet somewhere if u have any places in mind that could work for the general east coast area let me know.

Funny no one has reported it here. I think such a problem would be the subject of pretty intense thread.
BTW - just to be clear, an Over-Rev/Mis-Shift on the Auto would definitely 100% be covered under warranty. The ONLY way it can occur *is* a "computer glitch".

yes on the auto it is more than likely covered but they gave me pain in the ass for some reason. i think this prob is more comon on auto in my area cause the pep around here rag them out pretty bad.

lol yea but thats y i have warenty. and it only slips under hard power. i drive mine alot just cause its warenty and i would rather have things break on me know than later. they were all 07's.w/e its a first year for that motor setup so it probly has its kinks like every first year vehicle. they still havent came up with a fullproof fix for the 3rd gear sink on the man either and theres been complaints since the first day.
