Just wondering if anyone knows the difference between the two engines? One is rated at 287hp and the other at 300hp. Is it just tuning? Or is it something else?

I believe the RL is rated at 290 HP while the TL-S is 286. The 2010 RL is 300 HP , but that has the 3.7 engine from the MDX. I certainly don't know what makes the gifference of 4 HP, but looking at the parts list, although both 3.5, many internal parts are different between the RL & TL-S, at least when referring to part numbers, camshafts, rings, con rods, but that leaves quite a few parts that are the same. Maybe the difference is just in the mapping.

Your are dead on. The 4hp difference is most likely due to exhaust routing or Honda just keeping its flagship car showing the most hp. The 09-10 RL recieved the updated 3.7L which has vtec on the exhaust cams as well compared to only intake cam on previous J-series motors. Currently the 10 MDX, RL, TL- SH-AWD, & ZDX get this motor.

Can someone tells me If the 6speed Manual Tranny from the TL can be swap into the RL's engine to convert the RL into FWD with out SH-AWD?
Do you think the Transmission case form the TL or TL-S will fit into the Rl's Engine ?

Doubt it bro. Honda modified the RL auto tranny to work with the FWD 07-08 TL. I'd think the 6 speed would need this as well.

I heard the RL had true dual exhaust, hence the additional horsepower.
