Hey everyone. Currently I have a 2007 TL-S. I was reading some articles about the new body TL's coming out next spring. As you probably know they are going to be SH-AWD and over 300 HP because of their slightly bigger V6 engine. I was wondering if I should go ahead and modify my car now or wait for the new bodies to come out and get that and work on that? Do you think its worth it trading my 07 for the 09? I wouldn't mind the SH-AWD i can tell you that. So let me know what you think.

I would say wait for the 4G TL..but then idk how i would survive ~1 year without moddin my car haah

 

Before you go planning your driving/modifying life around the *expectations* of the '09, maybe you should see what actually comes out. Who knows, maybe it'll look like a Hyundai.

IOW - Enjoy the car you've got. Mod it, whatever .... if you *later* decide to go for the '09, part out your mods to get a little $ back and trade in the '07.

 

I don't think the AWD will help you that much here in Cali .... type-s is a good enough ride for now, so mod it if you like .... don't believe all the hype you hear about the 4g TL ... i will believe it when i see it ...

 

MOD it, just don't go NUTS. You can always sell the stuff here...

 

And besides .... the 1st line of 4GLs that comes out of the factory might have a lot of problems .... remember 3rd Grn 2004???

Oh yeah- 1st year production cars with problems are not particular to Acura. It happens to every manufacturer.

To the OP- what mods were you thinking about doing?

 

I plan on waiting to buy the 2011 TL-S but of course if the spy shots are really the TL. I will not be staying in the Acura Family because it looks too much like a nissan

 

I want a damn CL coupe! I'm done paying for my 04' in 09' so I will deciede then. I might just keep the TL as a daily driver and get myself a weekend toy.

 

I guess me and you have the same plan..lol...If they dont include the touch screen,atleast, then bye bye Acura.....

 

Well i plan on putting an intake on it and maybe changing the exhausts. I've seen a few ppl do that already. But the main goal i have is to put a turbo on it but comptech won't go into production for my car until next year. So thats why i dont know if i should mod my car now or wait until I see the 4G TL's. if they don't end up looking nice then I'll go ahead and make some nice changes.

 

Based on what happened with the MDX I would look for a significant price increase on the 09 TL, especially if they add AWD.
