2007 TL doesn't always "beep" on 2nd lock push keyless

Love my car, but my good ole CL-S always would beep to let me know the car was locked after 2 presses of the lock button on the keyless.

The new TL does it SOMETIMES, and it seems completely random as to when it does and does not do it. Is there something I'm missing here? Also, the lights don't really flash to let you know you've done it either. What's up with this?

from what i experience, there should be a 1sec gap between each press, otherwise it will not "beep", same goes unlock, if you quickly press it twice, it won't unlock all door, but if you press once, then hold a sec and press the second time, it would.

I think it has to do with the timing. I notice the same thing with my '06, though I always thought it was an effect of the alarm upgrade.

I'm having the same problem with my new TL, my old one always worked fine...it also seems like I have to stand closer to the car to make it work I also hate that fat ass key remote fob, it's heavier and the lock and unlock buttons should not be right next to eachother

I've got the '07 and have no problem with the confirmation beep. I know if press it twice really fast it won't, so like the others have posted, it needs about a 1 sec pause between presses.

for my 07 tl-s there is a good 1 second gap between the times you can push the lock button again.. and also does anyone else unlock their doors, then pop their trunk, then close the trunk and then the alarm horn goes off and all 4 doors are locked?? i think this is dangerous especially if you leave your keys in the trunk not knowingly.

^^crzydrifter - make sure your alarm is not on valet b/c sometimes body shops turn on valet mode so the alarm won't go off on them while they are maintaining it.

I have noticed this on my 00 TL as well when locking it you cant push it twice fast you have to pause for a second for it to beep. Same thing with unlocking it if you push it twice fast it wont unlock all the doors you have to pause for a second then push it a second time.

I noticed it also won't beep if a door or the trunk was left open- good way to check

You can disbable the beep by pressing the lock and trunk buttons at the same time. Same goes for re-activating it.
