2007 TL Base to Type S swap

Hello I have a 2007 TL base model and have the chance to pick up a 2007 Type S that's been wrecked and has only 36k miles on it. I was wondwring how hard it is to swap the drive train. I know the engine, transmission, ecu, and engine harness get swappend is there anything else like the dash harness???? I was also going to swap the brembo brake set up too. Any other ideas?? I have the whole car to take what ever I need.

How many miles on your 07, and if it's in decent condition, why swap out a drivetrain when you don't know its history? Is it doable?...probably...worth it?...probably not.

Some of that already was parted out by the time I found the car. It still has all the suspension, drive train, and brakes though

Can you rebuild the Type-S vs transplanting everything to your TL? It sounds like it would be simpler to rebuild the Type-S

Edit: didn't see the last post before posting

Here's what I'd do:
-keep your 07 as is, and if you didn't do the 105K service, do it. That way, the engine is good for the next 100K miles and you avoid the hassle of a drivetrain transplant, which may be fine, but may also be full of issues and problems that might take quite a while to straighten out. If you didn't do your tranny drain and fill, do that as well. The only thing I'd take from the Type-S style wise, would be the taillights (get yourself a pair since the Type S no longer has them).
Just one opinion of course.

instead of the full drivetrain, just swap the heads over.

you'll get a decent gain with just the type-s heads and cams.

Sounds like it would be waaaayyy easier to just do two things.....sell your base TL and buy a Type S. Otherwise if you want to take on this task of swapping, just do the cosmetic things and call it a day. Most of the interior stuff and exterior stuff is relatively easy to do. Drivetrain and other components not so much.

^This.. Why deal with all the time and energy that's involved to swap over all of those components?

I think it would be easier to just fix whatever is wrong cosmeticly on the type s and sell the base. Then you do a tranny flush and change all the fluids on the type s and you should be good to go!
