2006 TL TSB for whistling type noise from right front area under accel?

Hi all,

I have 1500 miles almost on my 06 TL and had the windows down today after I started the car and let it warm up for a couple minutes, when i hit the gas while drive and accelerated to 2000-2500 I start to hear a noise coming from the right front area and sounds somewhat of a whistling noise/ belt squeaking noise. Then immediately drove it to Springfield Acura where I purchased it last month. A technician took a ride with me and we reproduced the noise, usual happens under half-acceleration in 2000-2500 rpm range and will make the noise for a second or two and if you hold it at the 2200 rpm or so range it will make the noise a little longer, though when the car comes to a full warm up the noise can't be heard, and if your in park or neatrul you will not hear it. i searched the site here and found a few other people experiencing the same problem, most people had no answers except for one that there dealer fixed it and he posted what the dealer said, see below for the write up and link the title. Is there a TSB posted yet? The dealer had me take the car home and said it was safe to drive, and they would address the problem at my first oil change, 3500-3700 miles, i really dont wanna wait cause now the noise is annoying to me. the tech said he hears the noise and would look it up on hondas site when he got back or he would call honda. is there a TSB out for this yet I can show them or should I bring a copy of this below?

thanks for all help in advance,
JON

THIS IS FROM THE LINK BELOW:

I've been having this "whistling" sound for about a month or so and have posted in another thread about it. Some say it's normal, some say it's the intake (though the sound was coming mostly from the front, right while the intake is on the left side), and others say it's related to the heat shield. Well it's finally time for my B service so I took it in and they found the problem and fixed it. Here is what the invoice said:

Could be the heat shield, although from what you describe, not necessarily. Just tell them to check the heat shield (now, not 2 months from now). Showing them the service write up can't hurt. If that's the problem, it's an easy fix and they should fix it...if it's something, else, insist they figure it out now.

So you have a problem at 1500 miles that the dealer says they will address it 2000 miles later? From where I stand, you were blown off for warranty service. If you have a reproducible problem and the dealer tells you to wait to address it, that's exactly what they did. That is unless they said that they will order a part and it is ok to drive as is until the part comes in.

2005 same thing

First Off this is my first post. Been a memeber for a long time just never had any reason to post. Thanks to all that do post. It helped me make up my mind getting a TL.

Now to the problem we are facing. I have the exact problem on my 2005 TL whixh was purchused in October. I called the dealer and set up an appointment. They told me the same thing, Its no Problem just let the car warm up. I had them record that in the computer and got a copy for my records.

I didnt notice it till about it till about 3000 mile or so.

Going back to the dealer tomorrow. I will see what can be done. I will post what happens.

they admitted as abnormal noise to me, the dealer just wanted me to wait to the first oil change to do any work and really don't wanna wait 2 months, my question is does any have any other documentation that i can bring to the dealer to help them fix any quicker?

These issues where the dealer wants you to keep track of a problem and they might address it later adds up to poor service. I know some say the car exhibits certain characteristics, but come on... I can understand if they are not sure what it is, but sounds to me (and flame me if you like) that the dealer will not address the issue properly.

I would make an appointment where I was getting a loaner car and have then keep the car for a day or even two to fix the problem. They are there to service you, you are not there to work around what they want to do..
