Hello

I am wanting to change out my tail lights to the 07-08 style tail lights (the clear ones). Do I just need to buy the covers, or do I also need new tail lights to go with the covers?

I wasnt sure if the tail lights were different as well from what the 06 already has.

you would need to just buy the 07-08 lights and switch em out !!!

you can then sell ur stock red tails in the BlackMarket !!!

 

So you mean just the covers? Not the actual tail lights?

 

LOL i just saw u have 3 post....here lemme break it down for u.....

the tail lights have 4 parts:

led board (same for all TL's and TL-S's)
plastic pieces (same for all TL's and TL-S's....they differ in color thow)
brake lights covers (i dont know the actual name)....now the 07-08 have clear....older TL's and type-s has red
lens (the full cover).....04-06 TL have it red....and all other models have it clear.....

when you buy the 07-08 tails....you get 2/3/4 and not the LED board !!! you will use ur existing LED board.....

well u can get a set off ebay....i think depo is what the OEM replica is called.....

you should check the BLACK MARKET section of the forums as well....you will find some killer deals there too !!!

 

I've always suspected that, but never asked to confirm it. I Guess that means that all years have red LED panels. Cool.

 

All years have red LEDs as brake lights. Also, all tails from 04-08 fit on all of the cars as well. They have DEPOs, OEM and Eagle eyes. IMO, eagle eyes are a waist of money, they are complete crap. DEPOs are somewhat off color from OEM, and do not fit sung all of the time. I had problems with OEMs fitting perfect so that is a hit or miss. You get what you pay for, GET OEM. Resale value is there on OEM as well.
