I would say medium to easy....watch the cable reel on the hub though...

Sorry man, your thread on the installation sounds discouraging. Looks kinda complicated...I didn't know there were so many parts in the steering wheel.

The cable reel, what part number is that on Ron A's illustration (The part list)?

You dont need a new cable reel....just make sure you dont pull it apart like I did...it is no big deal once you know about what to watch for. Dealer will charge you too much for install. Once you have the wheel....thats all you need. It comes with two/four (dont quite remember now) new aluminum screws for the airbag assembly when you put it back on. All you do is disconnect the wires according to the directions (like three or four hookups you disconnect) pull the wheel, take it in the house and move the four switch sections from one to the other...the reinstall...rehookup and good to go. It just when you pull the actual wheel...make sure you dont pull the cable reel apart....it is a small plastic drum at the hub and has two straight plastic tabs that go into the bottom of the steering wheel, which is how I pulled it apart....I was working in the dark with flashlight....so it cant be that hard! Its kind of a bitch if you pull that reel case apart and nest the wires but now that you know its there....you are not likely to do this. I just went for it with no preadvance advice or reading and did it in the dark more or less.

I might add....the cable reel came off when I YANKED the steering wheel off.....just be careful at that point and pull straight up so the tabs are not off camber and pull the top off the cable reel....I still would have been ok if I hadnt freaked out and nested the wires making me have to figure out how they rewound on the reel correctly.

The cable reel looks like a 6" or so round plastic filmstrip can at the base/hub of the wheel and is responsible for relaying all the input from those steering wheel switches to the car, and maybe something airbag too....not sure....it has a white greased flat tapewire in it that is rolled around in two directions...allowing the wheel to turn in both directions and not disconnect or pull on the wires.
