2006 Cl

Does anyone have any ideas on when and if the new CL will make its debut?

What does this have to do about being new to the site? I'm just posing a simple question.

Vroman just search the site first before listing your question... you should do that in any forums...

What was (s)he supposed to search for? A search for "cl" on this site brings up 434 separate threads, with such helpful titles as "Orlando Meets" and "Is My Tranny Gonna Blow?". The only thread that's even close (search for "2006 cl") is jaydef's photochop.

Welcome! No one knows for sure when the 2005 TL will be out let alone a 2006 CL which hasn't even been confirmed to be built by Honda/Acura.

It's all rumours and speculation but nothing definitive. Some folks think dealers know more and have the inside track on info like this and I can tell you from experience that they are kept as much in the dark as you and me....although, each salesman will come up with some sort of answer out of their arse.

I know his doesn't help but be patient and see what develops over the course of next year.

And that is exactly what I will do. Thanks.

Anyway the reason i'm here is thinking of trading my '02 325ci for an '05 TL.

shhhhhhh

Honda is notorious for keeping their future product plans secret, and doing a good job of it too.

Things leak, but details are hard to come by until just before they're ready to announce.

Given the weak sales of the previous CL, the likelyhood that another will surface anytime soon is pretty low. Too bad that, since the "Photochop" version shown here would be killer if they really did do something like that.

Exclamation

I'm not hearing anything about a CL replacement. There will be a smaller sport ute called the RDX built on the CRV platform w/ hybrid probably out in spring 05 of fall same year. I've also heard of a new convertible built on S-2000 platform that will remain a convertible. And of course, the all-new 2005 NSX

Do you think Acura will make both a new small convertible and a new NSX?? It seems like they are too similar. But a nice fullsize couple like the CL would make sense.

cTLgo,

Those pics are awesome. If they made that vehicle it would be a killer. The lines of a coupe are just so sexy. That was a great job.

Well Guys, I hate to resurface this old post, but I want to ask the questions again is anyone has heard of any news on the 2006 CL? Let me give you the reason why I’m bringing this up. I was at the Acura Dealer this past weekend taking a TL for a test drive talking to one of the Salesmen there, and we brought up the CL. I asked him so by the why is there any word on the CL coming back and he basically told me yes he expected it to be back in 2006. Now I really question where or not this is true, but he has been a Salesman for Acura for the past 14years and he seemed pretty credible. So I just thought I would through this out there and see what everyone else thinks again, or stir up some new rumors whatever.

So is the New Coupe Model supposed to be out in 2006 or 2007? I hope 2006, I was looking to get a 2005 TL, but I might just have to wait until the new coupe comes out before picking up an Acura. From what I have found surfing it looks to me like 2007 for the Coupe.

I read in one of the auto mags recently that Honda is shelving the HSC concept car (a/k/a next gen NSX) for a coupe convertible along the lines of the Audi TT.

TOV speculates on its model release matrix that a CL replacement is likely in 2007 or beyond. They also mention a "unnamed Acura sports car" as a "sub-NSX" model at $45-$50K.
