I have been looking for a first car for my little brother and came across this one . It does have 3 accidents according to carfax , two of which happen one day affer the other , which is crazy and maybe a mistake . The third accident happen in 2008 . Nevertheless the car only has 13 k miles and looks good . What do you think ? Would you buy it ?

Yes it is kind of weird for a 11 year old car ..

 

In my opinion, if you could find out what damage(s) were caused during each of the 3 accidents ( assuming only cosmetic ) and not totaled then maybe its worth looking into.
especially since it will be your little brothers first car.

the other concern I have is. It's an 11 year old car with 11 year old parts. ( seals, belts, tires ) So things will need to be replaced.

 

Until you know what the "accidents" were, it isn't something to freak out about. One of my previous cars had a registered "accident"....a mirror got knocked off by some a-hole in a passing car. So a broken mirror flagged in the system as being side-swiped. Also to note....my '05 has a perfectly clean Carfax with no accidents. It is very clear as the car has aged out that both bumpers have been re-sprayed at some point in time. Don't think it was in a major accident, but more than likely a couple of minor ones.

As others have said, the lack of miles is actually more concerning to me. If the car was properly stored and maintained, no worries. But that is still quite a bit of money for a 10+ year old car.

 

Please tell me this is only a consideration because it's an 6MT.. If it isnt, don't even bother

My 04 had 16k on it whe I bought it about 3 years ago. Not one issue so far other than me replacing a window regulator a couple weeks ago.

46k on it now..... clean Carfax

 

3 accidents in a span of 13k miles? That's bad luck.

 

Or way too much car for the driver.

Can you even roll back a digital odometer?

 

The whole odometer assembly could have been replaced...

 

I should look at mine and see if there is anything on it tied to a VIN. I suppose that would be the only way to find out.

 

If it were manual, I'd be more inclined to say go for it.

 

This car lot is about 4 miles from my house. I have never bought a car there, nor know anybody who has, nor have heard anything bad about it. But, it is a small lot, and what I've seen there in the past (from driving by) are NOT always top-notch used cars, but who knows. Maybe they get them from auction? Dunno. But could be a deal.
