Just moved back to the US after living in Shanghai for past 2 years.
I had a new 04 and sold it in 2006 before I left for China.

What is the difference (if any) between 04 and 08 TL (no type S)?
How would you compare the 08 TL to the 09 TSX?

cant think of nothing els... don't buy a tsx.. its a nice car if you didn't have a tl b4 the fact.. I had a 09 tsx as a loner and it was nice but to small and to slow on high rpm's. get a used type s instead of a new base.

08 TL vs 09 TSX...it's your preference really... 2009 is the next generation of Acura TSX, so it has newer gadgets, but a TL will be much more fun to drive...

Sit in both, and choose for yourself.

 

By all reviews and ratings 04 TL's were the best TL's ever made.

Though you can't go wrong with a TL either way.

from what i know the 04 05 has 270 and the 06 07 08 has 259..

 

11. The 2004 had the 6MT available; the 2008 does not unless you buy the Type-S.


The actual horsepower did not change in the base TL. Horsepower is now calculated differently than it was in 2004 and the result of the new method is a lower number. But the actual horsepower remains the same.

 

^ Different HP rating method... Acura hasn't changed the engine from 04-08.

A 2004-2006 TL with a 6 speed manual will have huge brake capilers in the front that are black.
A 2004-2006 TL with 5 Speed Automatic has silver small brake capilers all around.
