OK, so i was minding my own business driving 40 on a regular 2 lane road when this old-ass ricketty looking Corvette rides my bumper likes he wants to pass. At first, i didnt pay him much attention -- didnt feel like he warranted my attention . But alas, we come to a T-intersection onto a 4 lane street and i had to make a left, he also needed to make a left. when the light turned green i casually make my left turn and he is STILL riding my bumper ... ... and so i gun it. ...

... the Corvette scoots over to the right lane and i shift to 2nd. 2nd gear to redline, my TL and the Corvette were neck and neck, i decided not to continue and layed off the gas and then the funniest thing happened as i shifted to third .... i heard the Corvette sputtering like crazy, and then he shifted.

i dont consider it a kill, it was just funny to hear the sweet V6 engine of our TL next to a sputtering Corvette.

 

Haha... But...but...he's in a CORVETTE!!! He's SUPPOSED to win...how could this be? Bet he was a little embarassed after that.

 

Heh .. picking on an old vette like that.

 

The 87 vette has 235 hp and the TL has 270 and a little heavier. I would think it would be pretty close given the probable mileage of the vette.

 

yes, i agree. im beyond that. i just thought it was funny that it sputtered.

 

I think that that old Vette has about 300 ft-lb of torque. Even though it is a measley 235HP.

80's corvettes were POS. They are not worthy! I'm surprised the thing was running at all!
