2004 TL Sunshade

I bought a sunshade that was custom fit for the TL from my dealer. However, I am already tired of the fact that it is cumbersone and only rolls up. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced custom fit sunshade for the 2004 TL that folds? What do you all use to keep your car cool? I live in the desert where summertime temps range from 105-125, so this item is a must. Thanks!

I just bought a Covercraft Heat Shield. It looks like a good quality sun shade. I like that it folds up istead of a thinner roll up. I should be receiving it any day now.

Heres where I bought mine. It was the best price I could find.

Because the 2004 TL's windshield is so large, any sunshade including the Covercraft are going to be large. I've had the Covercraft for about 2 months and it works great and fits perfectly. The only problem is what to do with it when you are not using it. It folds flat but it is still long and I keep it in the footwell behind the drivers seat. If you are carrying passengers it is big enough to be problematic. Put it in the trunk but you won't use it. Nothings perfect.

great thread - thanks. My wife and I were complaining this weekend about our poor fitting shades (she has '02 TL) and our current ones do not fit good at all.

Thanks to who provided the link as well.

I use one of those spring folding ones. I got a pair for under $10 at Costco. One side's black and the other is silver metallic to reflect heat. They're two circular spring rings wrapped in some nylon material. I just fold it a couple of times and tuck it under my seat when not in use. It fits pretty well...but not sure how much heat it reduces.

I had one of these for my explorer and i tried it in the TL. Did you get a larger one or something because the one I have barely fits in the TL and keeps falling down because it is soo small. Please fill me in because I like this sunshade a lot but the one I have is way too small.

I bought one like that at car parts and while it says on the package it fits our car and it is the "Jumbo size" - it barely stays up. I do like how compact it is -quick turn of the wrists and she's a small circle, but not big enough for the window.

I started with a spring-fold type, but the TL windshield is just too big, even for the Jumbo size. I forked over the money for the Covercraft UVS100 folding one. It fits great and folds up, but it is still VERY large when folded up. It takes up a bunch of room. If I were to have two people in the back seat, I would have to put it in the trunk...

I got the Jumbo size ones. I flip down both sunvisors to hold it in place and it fits fine. It has never fallen out of position and covers the entire windshield. Maybe we are using different brands...

I just checked the brand yesterday. It is Kuhl Shade. Got it from Costco.
