2004 TL, should I get it?

I've been looking at a 2004 TL. The guy who owned it inherited it and said its he never drives it. The interior looks very clean, but it has 145K on it. He said he just put new tires, new serp belt, and new battery in it. He's asking 7K but I think I could get him to go lower.

6MT or Auto?
Navi or non-Navi?
Any mods?
105K service done?
PS recall done?
Windshield wiper motor recall done?
Rotors/pads condition?
Has the factory coolant fill been replaced (due at 120K miles)?
Carfax?

Didnt mention brakes, I'll ask.
Yes, already sent the Carfax. It said everything was good. Maintenance is up to date.

I would go for $5000-$6000. What color is the car and what tires are on it?

If you have the VIN, you should be able to call the dealer and see if recalls have been done.

Assuming all the appropriate recalls and maintenance have been done and it runs and drives nice, $7K would seem to be a very fair price. And if he'll go lower, then even better!! (KBB pricing[zip code 75238]: Excellent-$8739, Very Good-$8289, Good-$7989, Fair-$6764).

My main concern would be the transmission. If it slips a bit, has hard or delayed shifts, then I'd pass.

Went & checked the car out. The transmission was fine, no slipping or hard shifts. Does need some little cosmetic things fixed, nothing major. But I talked him down to $6400!
