2004 TL Halo Headlight Mod

Need some input/guidance!! Hopefully this can help anybody in the future trying to do this mod for a 04-05 model...
I just purchased these aftermarket headlights from fishcake321 on ebay for my 04 TL.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/151073932656...84.m1438.l2648

Simon the rep was really helpful answering all my questions except which specific parts (by part number) I needed to make this work for my 04 model. He explained to me that for 04-05 models I need to purchase the following in order for the side amber lights to work:
"While it can be used on 2004-2006 models, minor modification is required for the wire connector to fit. For 2004-2005 models, you will need to purchase stock slim xenon ballasts used on the 2006-2008. And for 2004-2006 model, you will also need 1157 bulbs for turn signal and 1157 socket and electrical connector for the 1157 socket."

So I contacted an OEM parts dealer to see if I could identify the exact parts needed. This is what we came up with based on the 2008 diagram he told me to reference:
http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no
The OEM rep confirmed the parts I need are 8 (3119-SEP-H01 -- CONTROL UNIT), 11 (33129-SNB-003 -- IGNITER, HID), and 17 (33302-S5A-A01 -- SOCKET T20 W)

My questions are, after examining the 2008 diagram:
1) Do I need parts 2/15, 13, or anything else? It looks like everything is mounted together.
2) I checked all diagrams for the 04, 06, and 08 headlights and they are all identical, so maybe I don't need these parts? Maybe this website is just off.
3) I need 2 of each for each headlight. The OEM prices listed are insane, I was able to find parts 8, 11, and 17 on ebay much cheaper but I want to make sure Im getting everything I need and that this will all work before I drop any more $$. Does anyone know where I can possibly find these parts cheaper?

I ordered the 1157 in Type 2 120 LED Switchback with resistors, I saw the resistor mod thread and I should be able to do this:
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/g-109-diy-eliminate-led-bulb-induced-hyper-flashing-without-load-resistors-815219/
This thread is so long I haven't had time to read through everything, Im assuming it has changed a lot since it was opened in 2011! Anybody got a synopsis, page 1 seemed to have everything.

I wanted to get all new bulbs for these new headlights, I noticed that the fog light which is built in to the 04 model headlights is the same as the high beam (9006). Can someone confirm this and possibly explain if there is a difference. Now I need to confirm that this new set even has the built in fog...
Looks like I have my work cut out for me. Any input is appreciated!

Not yet. I haven't seen any better headlights out there, besides custom mods. I got them cheaper than listed on ebay. That's why Im trying to figure out if this is worth all the added equipment. Love the look I don't mind spending if everything works out.

my friend whos a County Honda mechanic know 2 people who USED to make and sell those after market halos sets on ebay... reason why I say used to is because the f-ed up so cars and now have a few lawsuits under their belts... JnC is cheaper and easier

Yeah I went through that thread, AckTL05 says it himself in post 55:
Final choice for myself: DEPOs if you are getting new since its around 100 more for OEM. For used, go OEM since I see nice sets in perfect condition for around a new price of DEPOs or a little more.

I understand this is regarding the mod that he does/sells, but either way he is saying that DEPO is not bad.

I dont want to use the stock existing lights I have on my car, they have signs of wear and its not worth it to me, so I opted for new but OEM is way too expensive, so I found fishcake321 on ebay and the lights look great. I won't be saving any money doing it another way especially with the dual halos, I've researched all I could. And I've heard good things about fishcake on azine as well.
If I get a piece of sh*t I will let you guys know! Im going to document the install and we'll see how it goes. Also got confirmation on parts I need to make it work for my 04 and its nothing compared to what I originally thought. I will update after install.

Crazy that you're actually willing to drop that much on DEPO headlights, but all the power to you and I'm interested in the outcome. Be sure to sell your stock headlights to make back some money

Yep, should have had Jnc or AckTL05 do em. Those guys mod headlights professionally and do much better work that you'll ever see on any Depos. When I got mine back from Jnc the workmanship and seal looked like they came from the factory that way.

Yeah, I mean Depos arnt horrible cheapo junk, I just don't understand the logic behind spending big $ on them when you have perfectly good OEM lights that you can have modded. But, to each his own I suppose.

Yeah but don't you already have OEM headlights? JnC or AckTL can do exactly what you're looking for at a cheaper price I'm sure. Annnnd you'll have OEM headlights instead of DEPOs

EDIT: "I dont want to use the stock existing lights I have on my car, they have signs of wear" just saw this. what kind of wear and tear?

There is some haze; and marks that look like they are on the inside. Also I had the driver side replaced after a fender bender and the body shop definitely installed a used headlight, it has very minor yellowing that only I notice but I cant stand it.

Lens restoration + plus JnC custom modding= new headlights. That would probably be cheaper than buying DEPO headlights. I had a Type-S depo headlight and when I took it apart i've noticed how cheapily they were put together. The projectors had hazing on the bowls there was slight rust on the inside of the lense holder and this was all on a new DEPO headlight.

Newbies should always check out vendors or research around for awhile; when one wants to modify their cars.

Update: so yeah Im new to this site and I had no idea headlights like Ack's and JnC's were out there, let alone at such quality and price. So thanks azine for schooling me haha. DEPOs are being shipped back already! Lesson learned. Thanks for the feedback.

Very nice, now you can have your lights modded however you want and wont have to worry about quality and cheap materials.

JnC does good work. He did my headlights for me. I also asked him to clean my headlights for me while he was at it, and when I got them back they didn't even look like the same headlights I sent to him. He refinished them so good that they look brand new again.

That post #55 your talking about is just for tail lights, not headlights which DEPOs are horrible and parts are not the same one bit.

For the $650 your paid for those, I can pretty find/sell your MINT like new OEMs plus blacked out/zkws etc for around that price give or a take a little. I can also make your headlights look like those for around 1/3 the price.
