2004 TL aspec -- Advice Needed
First post here -- hopefully I can get some help!
Im looking to buy a used 2004 TL aspec (black) with abouts 33,000 miles. I test drove it and I love it. Few minor things that I didnt like, ie rims (dealer said would trade out), door molding (easy to remove) and scratched aluminum trim (replace at a later date)! Right now the car is listed at 24,990 which I think is a great price for this car I think -- do you think its too low for what im getting?
Just looking to get peoples experience with their TL hopefully aspec and see if there is anything I should pay close attention to before I buy it. Hopefully it will still be there in two weeks! Thanks in advance for any advice!

Is it a full a-spec TL? Bodykit, suspension, Rims, spoiler, and steering wheel? Also Navi or non-navi? IF navi, at most i would pay 25k for. You can negoiate and maybe bring down the price a little. If not, i would pay max 24k for. Try to get a TL with navi as owners without navi wish they had gotten it later. Also dont try to bring it down too much as they can refuse the offer.
Some things to look at are:
the leather, make sure there are no tears, discoloration
look for any paint defects/blemishes
make sure the a-spec bodykit is fitted onto the car with no gaps
see if the early VIN transmission recall applied and was done to the car

Im not sure how to tell about the whole aspec package. . .it was sold like that origionally so wouldn't it have everything already aspec?
I was going to ask for 24990 out the door after tax and title
I did to a car fax check and it said everything was good.

Really?!? Wow, I don't like the stock oem rims, can't wait to take them off (I use them for my winter tires) and put my aspec rims on in the summer.
What about the aspec rims, seems a shame to put the stock rims back on ... but to each his own. Remember, the stock rims do not help performance wise, hence the aspec rims are 18" ... lower profile.
So no navi, auto and stock rims, I would not pay a penny more then $25 ... but it has low miles. Looks good, good luck, I would try to deal with them a little, but it seems like you are already to buy it.
btw, welcome

or, buy aspec rims from eBay, that's where I got mine, and then sell the ones you have now back on eBay.
But don't listen to me, it's your ride - hook it up the way you like it, not some dude on a board. haha...

Congrats! Don't forget to take pics for us... a lot of people on this forum have a problem with the body side molding too but if I may give my I say keep 'em... they make the TL look more muscular and accentuate its lines, all while protecting your investment!

That's not too bad I paid 25,999 for a 05 Tl A-Spec wit 15,800 miles, had the A-Spec wheels but no lip in the front back or the side skirts. Would recommend the A-Spec wheels in a dark color but of course you could always paint the stock 17s which you could find for relatively cheap.

It actually is possible that my car is a base TL with A-Spec wheels. I will find out if it has the a-spec suspension once i receive my tein ss back from tein and take off the suspension. I asked them at the dealer and they said it was optional for the lip kit. After I lower the car I am debating which lips if all I should put on there.
