135 day wait............. is finally over!!

This morning I finally got the call from my dealer that my ABP/Qtz/6sp/Navi/HPT has arrived. My wife and I are going to pick the car up in an hour or so. I've had this Magic Johnson, Chester Cheetah, Koolaid smile all day long! I've been researching the forum as what to look for when I take delivery. Needless to say, I will give the car a good inspection and test drive before accepting delivery. Thanks to you all, and I will give a review after I take it for a spin this weekend.

135 days? Talk about delayed gratification.....

Congrats on your car, and don't forget to post your impressions.

135 days!! Shit!

Man I went into the dealership telling my self that I was not going to leave with a TL unless they had the white with parchement leather. I promised myself this on the '03 TL I leased two years ago as well. After test driving the '04 I was would have probalby taken one with Primer and no paint. I ended up narrowing it down to the features that I wanted and there was one silver and one blue available that day. they told me that he whot TL would take abouta week to get in and I sad "F" it and drove off in the silver TL that evening. Never looked back and absolutely love my TL to death.

You waited 135 days. More pawer to ya, you must have amnesia and forgot about the car for 134 days or maybe you smoke weed everyday and really don't care about cars all that much, although you did pick a TL. anyways welcome to our world

cdkruaya: You wanna talk self control? I've been waiting for the same car for about 2 weeks longer than the Owl. Mine hit the dealership this morning, I dont get to see it till tomorrow, and I cant take delivery till late next week.

But then again, when I take delivery I will also have a Full A-Spec and Cleared front Turn Signals.

Congrats - I'm so jealous! Waiting is soooo hard, isn't it! But that deserves an award!

I have about another month to go, at least. But it's been almost a year since my test drive (had to get a lot of ducks in a row before I can buy). Now I'm waiting for the final pricing from Acura on the 05 TLs and to see the RL.

Man, what a car! I picked up my TL Friday and have driven it all over town. I now have over 600 miles on it already. Here is a quick review. Remember, it will all be good because I am coming out of a 1995 Dodge Conversion Van.

6sp: The six speed tranny on this car is so smooth. I love the short throws on the shifter. The gears are easy to find and I find the clutch pedal to be light and responsive. Downshifting is a breeze. I have only once had to give it a little throttle before downshifting into a gear

Handling: Oh my God!! I took the car over Decker Canyon (Nothing but haripins baby!) The car handled like a dream. Picture a road with a curve every 1/4 mile and that's where I broke my baby in. My wife was along for the ride and it did not even phase her. I have the HPT's and they had quite a grip of the road.

Sound system: How did I live without XM Radio? I am enjoying all the availabe channels the XM offers. The DVD-A is a real kick ass system. I went out and bought a DVD-A with movie themes on it and it really sounds great. 2001 A Space Odessey and the theme from the Magnificent Seven are awesome on this system. Grove's Winelight on the DVD-A sample disc is the bomb!!! Missy Elliott's Get your Freak on is the awesome!

Navigational Unit: Simply put. I really do not need it, but glad I got it. If (and a big if) my wife drives the car, she will never get lost. It is very user friendly, although the voice commands take a little getting used to.

Overall the interior is driver friendly and controls are easy to find. I could not have made a better purchase for the money.
