12k miles on EL42s

12k miles on EL42s

I'm down to the wear bars on my EL42s and I have only 12k miles (front and back, I just had them rotated 2 weeks ago). Anyone have a similar experience?? Is this about right??

I put 1k on two sets of EL42s and was down to the wear bars on my mind. You should be happy; now you can put some decent tires on the car.

Sorry, not a tire aficionado .. I assume a wear bar would be some gauge to determine when the tires need replacing, but where is it and what does it look like? I have the EL42s still and have about 4400 miles on them. Thanks.

I started to lose wet traction on my EL42s at 9200 miles, but was nowhere near seeing the wear bars. This was enough of an excuse for me to switch out.
