Been smacked by your door yet?

I have almost been killed by my driver door on several occasions. If you leave it between one of the "recessions" it will come back fast and hard. Anybody else?

Isn't this the auto-close feature.

Speaking of ass in the seat I've noticed that the driver leather seat on left side section is getting wrinkles from sliding in and out of it. Any way to prevent this? Some kind of leather protection????

Its a special feature by Acura, to make you stay in the car and love it more and drive more. :p

At first I thought it was cool how i could slip into my car quickly and not have to pull the door closed ... nifty little feature. However, I've subsequently been nicked and pegged by the door on numerous occassions. The TL-S was perfect in terms of the doors... why'd they go and change that too?

To those who don't know, there was a thread talking about how great the auto-close door is.

But, if ppl cannot get used to it, this auto-close door will be the big killer soon.

rets - I think people won't get used to it and Acura will abandon it. In another thread someone said this is all the rage in Japan. I love it for myself, but my front-seat passengers aren't always expecting it and a couple of times have narrowly avoided hurting themselves. I think they'll end up getting rid of it entirely in the U.S. because of possible litigation after injuries.

I have almost had my feet chopped off several times with this so far....It is a nifty feature because sometimes it's nice to just go ahead after a long day and hop in the car, left the door close behind you and turn on the heated seat
At the same time, especially if your parked on any sort of slope, it feels like you have to open your door and DIVE into the car to avoid getting slapped on the ass or limb nipped. They need the ELECTRONIC auto closing doors like MB, not just tightly hinged ones.

It would be cool if they had sensors to see if you are actually outside or inside the car before closing
