08 tl type s owners!

Ok Im convinced, I like the car, now what is the real OTD price for this car with Navi. I live in SoCal and most dealers so far are telling me 38k for it. Is that accurate? seems to me that since the 09 is out this prices would have come down. Any of you want to share your OTD price for your ride?

I don't have an 08, I have an 07 and I got it for 35k+ change OTD. btw, all type S' will have navi. Its standard at that point. I'm in Cali also.

I'm not sure if the price may be higher bc people may not be feeling the 09 and want to last of the 08s...depends on what the people are picking up. 09s are definitely ugly tho

With the amount of competition in So Cal and the new October dealer incentive of $3500 cash back you should be able to get one for no more than $35,500 out the door (OTD). I'd push for around $3500 or less OTD.

I bought my 08 TL-S over labor day weekend, ~ 1 month ago with the $2500 cash back dealer incentive for $36,300 OTD. I probably coulda gotten $36,000 or less but I was impatient and tired of shopping. They had the color I wanted, WDP and it was worth spending the few extra hundred dollars to ensure i'd get my car since not many are left.

There's no freaking way you should be paying $38,000+ OTD. Always negotiate OTD price, if you don't, they tack on all these other random fees to the final sale price. Use edmunds to send out requests to the SoCal acura dealers for an internet quote and go from there.

Thats what they will always quote over the phone, and rather than making it a long story, just take my word for it.

second, I got a tl type s, 2008, in black 3 weeks ago... got it brand new for 31,500 with the protection package installed (includes wheel locks, trunk tray, floor mats, and mud guards). Got it from Keyes Acura. Also, it helps to go during a slow business day. I went on Wednesday... This is because each dealer has a daily quota they are supposed to meet, and they are far more likely to hit it on days when people most typically car shop... that means they will be less willing to part at a lower price...

emphasize on the fact that the economy is screwed and nobody can buy a car.... Nobody can either qualify for the loan and lenders have stopped lending due to high auto default rates....

second, those who can qualify for a purchase or have the cash aren't buying either.... this is because the economic situation is so dire that people are too afraid to make such a high profile purchase right now....

Third, emphasize that the 09's TL's are out... they will counter saying that the 09 doesn't have a Type S model though, thats when you counter by saying that the 08 Type S doesn't hold a candle to the 09 TL with SH-AWD.

Fourth, If they say that the invoice is 35,400 and they couldn't go lower, tell them that if a horde of customers came in wanting the car for 32,000 that the dealer should be kissing the ground they walk on because nobody can push cars right now, especially type S's. You tell them that you want to save them the embarassment of kissing the ground you walk on and have them do it for 30-31K. (usually though when you ask for such a low price they will laugh at you, trying to get you to budge. That is when you throw in the line that if they were to sell for 32K that they should be kissing your feet and that you want them to do a little better and do it for 30-31K).

You can get a better price that I did because the economy fell even more into the crapper a week after I bought the car...

Good luck!

P.S.: just make sure that with all that, that you assure them you are serious...

I was also able to get one of their warranties for free, the one that guarantees that if my rims get damaged they will replace them for free, as with tires, and will replace any and all door dings on demand (that usually goes for 900 and it comes with another nice benefit but forgot which).

35k-39k with extened warranty 8 years or 100,000 miles, including taxes, tags, and tiltle. It's up to you whether or not you want the warranty or not, how long you own the car etc. Great warranty though, with out you should be right at 35-36k.

First TL-S Owner in California, bought my car in November, 2006.. OTD for 43k. Anyways, it makes sense they priced it so high. The demand of TL-S are extremely high right now. If you offer them a slightly lower price than what they ask, they CAN sell it to someone else. If that other person is willing to pay that price and your not, good luck having the car.

It may sound a little steep, just because it's priced as much as the 09's, but when it comes down to it, people really want the car.

...34,2 was also with ext war out to 120k miles.

I did all communication via email until the end. Once your get a price that you want, close it the same day like i did or someone might buy it from under you.

hey im from SoCal too. i recommend going to KBB.com, find and email the dealers in thw area. When i got my car, the Type S was the same price as the reg TL...just a lot more in insurance hah.

when you talk to dealers in the area, negotiate online, start broad, and zero in for the deal. the best deal i found was at DCH acura. the internet sales manager is Kololo. he is a great person to deal with.

yea, if you negotiate to a good price online, you dont have to haggle with the people at the dealership who continue to try to squeeze a penny out of you. you just walk in and sign, and leave with your car.

BEST OF LUCK

ps. internet sales give you a better deal because the dealership does not have to pay the salesman a piece of the deal. the internet manager gets his regular salary and a small bonus compared to the salesman. im sure you can get it for WAY under MSRP...prob around like...33? idk, ill have to check. keep me updated tho

pss and if you have any questions, just lemme know. and if you do get it from DCH, tell them Brian, the kid who got the Carbon Gray Pearl 07 TL referred you. he will remember me and give you a great deal.

You may want to act quick...I've been looking for a 2008 TL Type-S as well, but they are all sold out in the Los Angeles area.

If anyone happens to find one, let me know! I've been driving around a 2006 TL - base and wishing I purchased a Type-S the whole time.

$36,300 OTD about 4 weeks ago. That included a 5 year 100K extended warranty at a cost of $1320. I'm not sure if i'll keep the warranty and may request a full refund prior to their 60 day refund policy. I wish I could buy the warranty online for $980, but residents of FL are forced to buy their warranty from a FL dealer. So, without my extended warranty, I would have been at $35K OTD or ~$32K +TTL

Bought my '08 TL-S back in Aug of 2007 and I paid 37K OTD. In this economic market they should be giving them away. Hold your ground, you can get a much better price.

08 type s for 33,900

First posting for me i just got mine Labor day weekend for 33,900 plus tax lic. I got the WDP with two tone black interior. Got mine at Acura Mission Viejo in So. Cal. Got a quote over the internet. I was looking at the same car at a different dealer ship with 4000 miles on it that was a managers car they still wanted 32,800 for it and did not want to budge on price. I told them I'll give them 32,000 but did not what to. So i went and got a new one with ZERO miles Mission Viejo Acura...
