'07 Type S Tail Light not under warranty??
Ive been looking through a bunch of threads about warranty information trying to find out whether or not my tail light is covererd.
So heres my prediciment. I went to the dealer to have my HFL link and for them to look at my tail light because moisture is getting in around the top seal of the light. NOW, the dealer is trying to tell me that lenses are not covered under the extended warranty aka Certified. So I called the warranty number on the back of the card to complain, and they said the same thing. The TL has 29000 miles and is an 07 but i just bought it this past december.
I was wondering if this is something that should definitely be covered under my warranty. I find it completely ridiculous for someone spend this much money on a so called certified car. IF you have any links to the certified warranty contract that would be awesome because the links i found were dead.
Thanks in advance
Glenn

Are yoru SURE your car isn't still under the 4-year/50k warranty. I've got an '07 too and, time-wise, I'm good until end of May.
The clock starts from the first purchase, so you're in a grey area - it might be, or it might not be, depending exactly when it was delivered to the first owner.
Also, not sure if this helps or not:
From April 2007 in this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/acura-servicenews-bulletins-588838/. Read the instruction for access at the top of the first post.

Water on Top of the Taillight Housing? It’s Not a Leak
Currently Applies To: ’07 TLs
The ’07 TL comes with clear taillight lenses instead
of those familiar red lenses seen on earlier models.
Because these lenses are now clear, it’s possible to
see water sitting on top of the taillight housing after
the vehicle has been washed or rained on.
Don’t replace the taillight—it’s not leaking. The water
you see isn’t really inside the taillight and it doesn’t
affect the workings of the brake lights or the running
lights. Over time, that water will simply evaporate, but
if you don’t want to wait that long, it blows out easily
with compressed air.

you are my hero. Apparently my first "in-service" date was october 06. So as of October 10, i was out of the 4 year 50000k warranty. Now the benefit is the 12 month 12000 warranty as a "certified" vehicle. Thanks for your help again man

the acura certified warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on...i had to fight tooth and nail to get them to replace the front LED sidemarker after it went on a fritz a few weeks into my ownership...they wont replace the burnt out side mirror either.

so after a week and a half of arguing with the dealer, they admitted to me that the first guy I worked with was new and he didnt have a clue what he was doing. The guy that was the most help, Pete, told me that the tail light would definitely be covered under warranty for the discoloration around the outter edge. (Thank GOD). While i was there i had them look at the morror that was jumping/jamming as it was going down when the car was in reverse. They replaced the mirror motor under warranty and also replaced the rear driver door panel because the mounting bracket was broken. All and all it was a very good trip. Im happy again!!! Thanks for all your help guys/girls.

glad you got your problems fixed on your car....my mirrors do the same thing...i guess i should take my car in to have them look at it...i thought i had a rear defroster problem too but they said that it is fine...it just seems to take forever for it to work and not even all that good.....the time i did take my car back into the dealer not two months after i purchased it was for a dead battery....they replaced it no questions asked
