07 Type S 1/4 mile time
I was wondering if anyone out there as ran there 07 Tl type s on a quater mile.I took my car to the race track yesterday and hit 14.26@92.59 mph.I was in elimination round and i left off on third gear and slammed on the breaks because i was too far ahead of the other car.Has anyone got a real stat time on it though? My fastest mph for the day was 97.89 mph.I spun out tryin to learn the car at first. After that 14.26 run didnt really get anymore time to run.

Yea it was a 6 spd manual.I think the car couldve ran a 14.0 considering i let off on the gas.The car does end the quarter mile in 4th but since i was tryin to get as close to my 14.3 dial without beating it i was tryin to stay in elimnation round for more runs but ran a little too quick.Im guessing the car wouldve gotten to 98-99mph on the quarter at a 14.0

You should've kept going just out of curiosity, with a 14.26@92.59mph, I'd guess you probably would've done high thirteens, by the way you must be a REAL good driver to pull that off on a stock TL-S. I had thought that a 6MT TL-S was capable of pulling it off but no one had done that, not even R&T, they got 14.8.

your right R&T was not able to get the TL-S any faster but then again you have to take into consideration that the car was not broken in when they did there test runs. My friend works for Automobile magazine and most of the cars that they run are the ones that get loaned out to people when they bring in there car for repairs and need a car for the time being.

Actually i did have a short ram intake.I cut an integra gsr intake to fit temporarilyand i took the stock resonators out.I was thinking more on the lines of hitting 1.40 but high 13's would be nice too.The TL s is kina hard to lauch though since i have a heavy foot.I thought i bogged at first when i ran my car since im used to driving civic and integras and swapped cars has a different feel.I think i want to take car out to the track again.

Thanks for the compliments on the driving.I really wished i went all out on that run too because i still broke out.I slowed down so much that i thought that i had the win.I didnt thinking i would beat the 14.3 dial in

Stop reading so much C&D and stop believing everything you read.
There's something outside of the magazines....the real world and sometimes cars run faster than the mags say and sometimes they run slower...the mags seem to "favor" certain cars and "dislike" others.....you can tell by their articles when they continously bash a certain make or model.

Yeah that's what I thought too, but it's probably so slow because he said he let off early and hit the brakes so that he wouldn't break his dial time.

Is there a key way to throttle off the line in a race? Considering wheel slip, VSA on or off, bogging the engine, etc? difference for MT or AT? I got an 06 5AT & notice sometimes spinning the wheels lightly gets rpm up quicker to get off the line faster. & when I just mash the gas pedal, sometimes it seems a bit slugish. Looking for some drag racing 101. Thanks guys!

SleeperPnoy04, did you turn off the VSA?
In any case, those are pretty good run. With some sticky tires and excellent launch the TL-S 6MT should easily get into the high 13's, likely 13.8~ 13.9. With a driver only weighing sub 140 lbs and with the car well broken-in this is very possible.

VSA on or off
I turned the vsa off everytime. The car wont really go anywhere with it on.The tires i had on my car are really hard and not sticky. So im pretty sure it it would run 13's too.I went to the track a few more times i got a 14.14 @ 99mph.I just went last nite but i ran on my 19 inch wheels.I only was able to pull a 14.46 @ 96.09 mph.I guess the only tip i would suggest is launching pretty low.Im gettin more and more used to it.

U have a nice tsx also 3pedal.We need to make a meet sometime when we can run into more of the tl and tsx's out here.I actually decided to put my exhaust back on to my car.I ran a stock base model 04-06 TL last nite.He started first and then i jumped him by two cars then i missed 2nd gear but still put it back in and we stayed even after that.We both had about 3 people but i was still on my 19's.I think find some 17's or light 18's.Car slows down about 3 tenths with the 19's.I think the car could run low 14's its just a matter of gettin off the line.Besides the intake on my car is a little ghetto so im sure i can get a better time with a cold air.Still waiting to find a supercharger for my TL

Hey sleeperpnoy04 it seems like your first 60ft wasn't that good, I believe a relatively good run is around 2.1s. Try using grippier tires and/or drop a few psi.
