'07 TL Type S harsh downshift

Hi all, just got a 07 type s last week with 57k miles on it, love the car, its autonatic, problem is sonetimes when I let go of the gas and let it roll to a stop sign, I can feel the harsh downshift, same feelibg as manuel transmission engine brake, is this nomal? I have read a few post, some says its the way acura design for the type s model, some says its rev matching, bad engine mount, bad pressure switch, I did a drain and fill ATF change in Honda dealership, but the downshift feeling still exist, and when I drive on local, if i let go of the gas it give me a little loss of power feel, it dont roll smooth, no so progressive, is this the way it design?

would you happen to be going downhill whenever you feel this? I dont have a 5AT but from what I've read on Azine, is that the grade logic is pretty aggressive in these cars.

that is normal, I some time down shift into 2nd gear the the car felt like I just slam on the brake. I think mainly it has to do with the grade logic and also these car feature rev match on down shift which some thing isn't available in 04-06.

Mine does the same thing but I wouldn't say its "harsh". You can feel it down shift but its smoother than down shifting a manual transmission. Then again, I could just be used to the downshifting because the first time I drove the car i really notice the downshifting.

More that likely it's just the Honda/Acura Grade Logic transmission.

My 08 Type S with only 25k miles does it. If I had a choice I would prefer it didn't do it, but oh we'll it's not horrible.

The only time my type-s shifts smooth as butter is at higher rpms. I rarely go WOT but it's like the car wants to be driven fast and beat on. I thought my car was retarded as its supposed to "learn" your driving habits.....after the ECU reset a few times I still feel that "jerk" and honestly after my old cl J30 tranny blew on me any "jerk" scares the SHIT outta me. Been like that from day one when I bought her new and hasn't changed since. Currently at almost 70k so waiting for it to at 70,001 so Acura jerk me. PRAYING this upgraded tranny is as "bulletproof" as a Honda engine and as they make it seem.

Same here, she loves the higher RPMs. Smoothest shifts are after 4k RPM. Kinda the opposite of most cars
