'07 Switchblade key for '06 TL

http://www.amazon.com/Keyless-Entry-...sim_sbs_auto_2

I purchased a 2007 Acura TL Fob Clicker and i'm trying to use it with my 2006 Acura TL, EVERY locksmith and Honda/Acura dealer I have contacted say they cannot cut or program it.

Is there anything i can do to make this Key work with my 06 TL?

Any Suggestion?

you can use the diy ( https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-tsx-2004-2008-124/diy-guide-tl-switchblade-key-60-photos-671520/ ) from way back where you open it up cut out the key and put yours in. Although, apparently people have problems with it breaking using that method. But I thought I mine as well see if it works since its free to do if you have the fob and it cant hurt since the part your modifying youll end up throwing out with the heeltoe key. I have used it for atleast three months and it still works perfect, I love it is is sooo much nicer than the older style. The only thing is you want to limit the keys on your key chain to get the longest life out of it which is fine for me since i only have two that i carry with me regularly. The biggest thing is you want to prep the surface that you will be epoxying very well... rough it up, from what I understand the problem was that the epxoy was failing. Which is really the only thing that can fail. Make sure that your epoxy mixture is as close to 50/50 as possible I always cut the epoxy tube so i can independently push the two parts out. When the two plungers are connected it is impossible to get a good mixture. Also it isn't necessary to cut the entire key like they show in the diy i think he shows the other method later in the thread

^ nope, just put a light coat of clear nail polish when you first get it. I took some from my G.F.

^I purchased mine through HeelToeAuto, prob 3yrs ago. It is an OEM Acura key/fob milled and cut to fit an '04. Love the switchblade!

Had it milled through HeelToeAuto, and cut/programmed at my dealer. Once the key is milled, it can be cut by the dealer/locksmith.

Great idea! Clear spray paint probably wouldn't be a bad idea either as long as it's something strong like Enamel or even Lacquer.

On a side note, does anyone know how to (or if you can) go from switchblade to standard key? I installed a 2-way pager alarm/remote start and it's annoying carrying the transmitter along with the switchblade.

Yeah, my silvers fading off my buttons. I wish I would have thought about the clear nail polish idea. I also got mine from Heeltoe, and took the actual blade portion out and took it to Lowe's, and the guy cut it for free. I did already have a transponder that I had taken out of one of my original keys. So, that saved me some money not getting it programmed. I also got a cheap ass Accord key off ebay, and had a local locksmith cut and program it for $10.

Here's a pic of my switchblade and Accord style keys. As I'm sure you can tell I wrapped them in Di-Noc, and I've gotten a ton of compliments on the Di-Noc.
