07 Front Grill

I was checking out the new 07 at the Acura dealer and I like the new front grill. And to me it looks the same as the 04-06 models. So does anyone know for sure that the grill will fit the older models?

the hood, bumper, grill (duh) lights (not sure if they can fit the front fenders of 3rd gen 04-06) and a few other things may need to be changed.

I like the 07 grille too. Seems too have that black chrome look on the type-S.

The 07 grille is slightly larger (heightwise). You'd have to change the front bumper....Or maybe this is a chance for the invention of a new mod......Anyone wanna be a guinea pig and cut an inch off their front bumper??

From the way it looks, the top piece from the hood and the center piece appears to be the same size as the 04-06 grilles.

I think its just the bottom "V" piece that changes the height

Maybe people would want to just replace the black-chrome piece if it fits? Just a thought.

2007 Type S Black chrome grille does NOT fit. The hood piece fits and the rear piece will fit but you have to buy the whole license plate surround to get the trim piece. the "V" of the front bumper is not only taller but it is narrower. I DID try this and know it doesn't work. I also tried heating the piece to make the bend work, and no luck the black chrome plating buckled as soon as I moved the piece. I have sent out all of my trim pieces and the "A" from the trunklid to be black chromed to match the 07 Type S. I will have it back in a few weeks.

No prob. I will post some pics when I get my stuff back. I also modded my front grille so there is no center. So the black chrome trim should look nice around it.

So your going to drive around for a few weeks without a front grill? I couldn't take seeing my baby like that for more than a few hours.

Great! Someone is doing it! All these ideas were joggling in my head too. I've been waiting to see this. You went through a lot of effort, I give you credit. I don't think I ever would have went as far as you. Bummer that you have to buy that whole surround on the rear just to get that little strip! Is the upper strip available separately? I plan to mod the rest of the grille later. Can't wait to see your car once you're done!

I removed all of the trim pieces of the front grille, cut the center bar out that is attatched to the bumper, filled and shaped the holes, and painted to match the grey plastic in the ASpec front and rear lips. then in the hole i cut and shaped mesh and painted it low gloss black. So it is all done except the Black Chrome trim. It looks a little weird with no trim but its worth the wait for the final product.

rockyfeller what exactly is your question about the upper strip?

Yes the hood trim is available separately and will fit all years because the hood part number has not changed. I decided to have all my stuff done together to make sure it matched. It even if the Type-S trim fit I still wouldnt have bought it all because to get the trim piece in the back you have to buy the big license plate surround and it is almost 300$ for that piece alone, and they didn't make the "A" in black chrome either. So it actually worked out better that the type s trim didnt fit because now I will have all matching pieces along with the "A" and for half the price.
