so yea.. tonight, i got beat by a boosted d-series hatchback.. dyno'd @ 164hp, 174-lbs tq........... also, tuned by Blacktraxx, Milpitas, CA... Very known for their crazy built turbo RSX...

First, we did a roll from 40-120, it seems like my car did pretty good, he was on my tail..

Then 45-120...*SIGH*... lost by very little, fkin 4th gear FTL.. i was pullin slowly on 3rd, and once i got into 4th, game over. He starts to pull... very slowly.. by 120, we shut it down. Lost by about 1/4 CL...

Crazy thing is that his 3rd gear goes up to 130, and he said his 4th is shit as well, lol... Well, next time we race, i'mma have my exhaust on from Greddy so i'll give u guys an update in 2-3 weeks.

 

i guess he must have a chipped ecu for his 3rd to go up to 130, but i doubt it though.

 

you need to do a 30 roll. guranteed you would have taken him by atleast a car

 

What the hell, those are low numbers for a turbo motor, very low it must run at 5psi or something.

 

If the guy in the integra has only 165whp and 175wtq he wouldn't go anywhere in 3rd gear if it went to 130. Unless he's making boost at 5,000rpm and he takes it to 10,000rpm.

 

forget the exhaust.. save the money for a S/C if u wanna beat him. i doubt the exhaust is gonna give u any power what so ever. what do you have? just a CAI atm? do they have headers and pulleys thermoblocks for 3rd gen TL? lols.

i asked him to do 30, but he said no.. i'mma call him out on a dig and roll @30... maybe this week.. he said if he does 30, he's @ the end of 2nd..

FYI, he's TUNED... that's why his 3rd is so long..

i dunno if u guys know anything about Blacktraxx, but those guys built their own RSX turbo.... They know wtf they are doing...

hmm..i'm a bit confused, at 30mph, he's at the end of 2nd gear..but its 3rd gear can take him up to 130mph? so, 3rd gear will take him from 30mph to 130mph???

He's at the end of 4th at 130 guaranteed, and he probably meant that once he shifts to 5th the car slows to shit. Our ATs take the hit when shifting to 4th which is overdrive.

 

yea, that would make a whole lot more sense, 1st goes up to 30mph, and 4th to 130mph.

 

On a similar note, my son just ordered the Apexi Neo he needs to tune his boosted D16 (98 Civic EX 4dr) and he is looking forward to running it against my 07 AV6.

However, I do plan on running him at the track as opposed to public roads. Should be interesting, particularly as my son seems to have inherited my quick RT prowess.

 

There's a boosted D15 EG6 in my area with 235whp for sale. How much does your son's D16 make?

Not bad. D15s probably put out 80-90 @ the wheels, and with a tune he doubled his output.... probably putting out ~200 crank hp, which is a lot for such a light car. I'm just guessing you raced an EG, easily weighs 1200 lbs less than your car, maybe more if its gutted, no A/C, etc.

Blacktraxx does have a good reputation.... they used to have a built boosted Prelude too, think they sold it. Them and Red Zone, one of the top tuners in the SJ/Milpitas area.
