'05 TL vandalized

Hey everyone, as the title states my 05 TL was vandalized in my apartment complex sometime in the early hours last night. I woke up this morning to find my front tire flat, upon getting closer I realized my entire car was keyed but the roof and bumpers. I called the cops right away and filed a police report and took pictures.

Anyways on to the pictures to what I woke up too. If you guys have any advice I would greatly appreciate it.

I was singled out for some odd reason, the half smile on the hood in the final picture is what really bothers me. I spent about 30 min in the office trying to break my lease.

Dude I feel for you, people can be so cruel, looks like someone did not like you.
Anyone you know that didnt get along with you?

I am have my car in the driveway at my parents house since I am there for the summer before school year begins. My neighborhood is old, and run down, so worried someone will do something on my car freaks me out.

Hope you get resolution from this horrible act.

Who'd you piss off?

File an insurance claim for repairs. It'll go as comprehensive and should not change your rates.

Maybe consider an alarm.

Sorry to hear about this, hopefully it can be buffed out and maybe there are cameras at your apartment complex that caught it.

I worried to drive my TL to Florida now

That sucks! I've learned it doesn't matter where your at. People will key scratch, let grocery cars, and their kids slam the doors into your car. I actually watched a girl in an old iroc do that to my last car. BAM! Right in the rear quarter panel. I was like .... um it's ok... The girl totally freaked out. Either way idk what part of FL you live in, but I see/hear a lot more going on in central FL (orlando for instance). So I'd take scratches and flat tire as an inconvenience over busted windows and/or a stolen car. Which ironically where I live car theft is ultra low. It's a rarity. It's small and rural/country/beachy here.

Anyway, it really sucks about your car, and obviously the person had no remorse to carve a smiley in the car. I could never do that, plus I'm always careful about other cars in the parking lot. I remember running across the parking lot after a buggy on a windy day just to keep it from hitting a nice car. Might've been an acura or a lexus. I know people wouldn't do what I did, but hey we all here try to respect others and their stuff. To bad we're the minority.

Looks like punk kids... I mean who keys a car anymore, honestly. It looks like they just ripped out the value stems so the tire should be ok with new value stems. Somebody was on a mission by keying the car and then took pliers to your valve stems.

I honestly havent caused trouble where I live, or called the cops on any of the parties around that area. I called the insurance company yesterday and they will be handling it as vandalism and I have a $250 deductible. I had a Viper alarm but I was having issues with it so I sent it in to get looked at.

The whole car is going to get repainted, I will be paying for the roof and bumpers myself since those were not affected. There are some places on the panel that aren't so deep but deep in other areas, so buffing wont help.

Thanks, Im waiting on the adjuster to come take a look at it before I take it to a body shop. As I stated earlier that I don’t have issues with anyone or at least I don’t think I pissed anyone off.

Thanks, its really depends where in FL your coming to. Some places are nice as others not so much. I guess living across campus isnt the greatest place, I will most likely be moving to the out skits of Orlando or finding a place with a garage or cameras.

Naw I dont deal with psycho girls or anything of that nature, Im guessing someone doesnt like how I always keep my car in the condition I do. Ex. washing it every week and what not.

Im actually a college student at UCF and live off of Alafaya if your familiar with the area. I honestly would have rather had them slash all four tires then to key the entire car. Even where I live there are quite a few BMWs, Mercedes, and what not but there are some POS cars.

Theres actually about a in gash of the tire at about the 10 o’clock position close to the rim, I have a closer picture of it that I can post up later.

Damn, they keyed the hell out of it, slashed your tires, then pulled out the value stem... Somebody was definitely on a mission.

We could never know if it was a personal attack or punk kids =(

Glad to hear it's getting repainted.

Trying a new colour?

Honestly I was toying with the idea of doing a different shade of white but wasnt worth the extra work. I will most likely be getting the roof painted black as well as the grill. I found a great body shop here in Orlando who seems like an honest guy and even took me on a tour of the shop.

YES OP, i think u are right. someone noticed how much u cared for your car so they decided to vandalize it b/c u made it visible that your really LOVE your car by the way u maintain it. it also doesnt help that ur car is WDP, which realli makes ur car stick out in a parking lot. u can love ur car, but juss dont make it too obvious where u start making ppl jealous. and i think u reached the point where u babied the car to the point where it had to be kept in a garage.

[sigh] Some miscreants just don't like it that other people have nice stuff. Sorry to see this happened to you; hope it all works out okay with the insurance company and the body shop.

Unfortunately I wouldnt have gotten a type s conversation since they could have just repaint the bumpers.

I know, it just sucks that some low life is jealous of how I maintain my car. Hopefully the next place will defiantly have a garage for me.

Thanks, Im still waiting on the insurance to come take a look at it. My body shop didnt even give me a quote just because he wanted to see how much they will be paying. The car will be at the shop when the adjuster comes out so he can deal with the shop directly so I can get reimbursed correctly.

Ya, OP was talking about that area. OP, UCF is a good school. Im trying to gear up for FSU or UF. I'm a huge seminole fan! I'm not familiar with the area you guys are talking about. The areas i really hate are the Pine Hills area, Rosemont, and downtown. Especially parramore (sp). But i do like the new Amway center. Ohhh and i love the new walmart on John Young! I have family that lives there and I'm familiar with those areas.

EDIT: BTW OP glad your gettin the car repainted. Still sucks you have to go through that though. People really do suck sometimes.

Just happen to be coming back from Florida. Was in Miami and Orlando. I hate to say it but Florida has a bad rep when it comes to TL's being vandalized. Since I was staying with relatives and had to park my TL in their driveways, I was sleeping with one eye open. At times getting up checking to make sure my TL wasn't resting on cement blocks. Luckily nothing happen, considering my TL is kept in my garage when at home.
