05 TL (AT) STOCK vs 06 RSX Type S STOCK

Hey guys,
Just thought I'd get ur opinion on who would win btw 05 TL (AT) and 06 RSX Type S - both STOCK. I know my TLs got more ponies but that 6-speed quick little RSX scares me

I believe he will take the first plunge but not that far ahead from u, but the tl can manage to pull ahead in no time.
here's analogy: its like big brother vs. little brother, u let the little brother go first knowing that you can get him later =P

My coworker has a 04 RSX Type S and I have an 06 TL 5AT.....we raced down a local industrial road where I gave him 2 car lengths lead, and i barely closed the gap after approximately 1/4 mile.....but hes good at stick and I basically just floored it (no launch involved....applied 1/2 to 3/4 gas pedal until at 10-15 mph and then gunned it down) Oh, and my VSA was ON (last second decision making on the race, so it didnt even occur to me tp turn it off). Believe, if you turn off VSA, you should be able to pull on him, but dont expect a blow away race if hes good.

He's talking about the 06's..different from 02-04 RSX-S. My personal opinion, it's a driver's race. Regardless the year or specs on the RSX-S, they are very underrated by a lot of people. You'd be surprised at how fast they can get into the triple digits (and still pull).. Basically, whoever f's up first will lose.

according to the books and the mags tho the RSX-S is slower than the TL both in the 0-60 times and in the 1/4 mile so i would have to say TL FTW!

Drivers race! The 06's are slightly faster than the 02-04. They use the type-r cams and have a higher redline.

doesn't matter if your mag racing or not if a car is just plainly faster than the other it really doesnt matter on the driver hence he can drive normally, all i know is ive seen countless races between RSX's Types -s and TL's and they always lose the RSX's i mean and no im not talking about online racing im talking about Street racing oh and at the track as well. ( irwindale 1/8 mile )

I just ran one with a Short Ram intake and he pulls me hard once I hit fourth gear other than that I pull roughly a half a car length til fourth. Also he is one of the best drivers you can get his shifts are seemless.

It went down like this we both start off in 2nd, I start pulling away. Then he shifts to third I'm slowly pulling him. Then I go to third, he gets a little distance on me, then he goes into fourth I get ahead pull him a bit, then I go into fourth and he pulls me, and race over.

my fren has a 03 tl type s...with an intake and he lost to an rsx type s...the rsx had a jdm intake and exhaust i believe...but its basically even until 4th gear for the tl then its the rsx all the way...some say the 03 tl type s is similar to an 04+ tl....i've been told its the SOHC that kills the tl...and the DOHC in the rsx is what keeps it to pull hard top end where the tl dies...

Probably, also fourth gear on the TL is almost the same as fifth. So basically the TL is a four speed, while the RSX is a true 6 speed.

the rsx-s and the tl will be the pretty much the same in acceleration, rsx keeps pulling after 110 though where the tl doesnt, and thats cus of the gearing in the tranny not the SOHC.

magazines dont really depict how quick cars really are they just give a close estimate with the times they did their tests.

and once the tl and the rsx engine start getting moded the rsx will be faster

Its a drivers race. If the RSX guy can drive then those cars can pull high 14's with traps in the mid 90's. If he can't drive stick you will win.
