Thanks for mentioning this. I haven't heard of this. What is damaged when the spark plug loosens and comes off? The coil or worse?

If the plugs have never been changed, I'd STRONGLY suggest even just checking them to make sure they are tight. All you need is a ratchet, extension and a 5/8 socket (don't even need a spark plug socket to tighten them.)

Not trying to scare you on it, but that is probably the only other thing that can ruin the car pretty much...
Definitely ordering some this week to replace in my car by next week!

I've seen some people get lucky and the plug just comes loose enough that it blows out and destroys only the coil and you can just install a new plug and good to go.

I've seen it blow out the threads and you have to helicoil it to fix. I've also seen it melt the spark plug electrode, coil, and totally ruin the bottom end of the motor.

I bought my car with a blown #5 spark plug. There was a dent in the hood where the coil hit it, and the threads were gone in the head so I had to helicoil it.

The good thing, at least as far as I'm aware, it's not a problem that 'progresses', i.e. if the plug hasn't blown out and its just loose, just tighten it and you're good.

Jasper Rebuilt. I am using it. 100K or some x-years warranty. They also improved the design, so it's smooth as butter. I ran mine for about 60K now and it's still good as new. They will also recommend a shop for you. Will probably cost you around $3,500 - $4,000.

Tell him Victor with the white acura tl sent you. Very nice guy I dropped off my car at 9am and picked it up at 5pm that same day. Prices very great but also depends on the type of warranty you choose... I got the one year so my price was awesome.

Not bad, I paid $1400 for a rebuilt with a one year warranty.
