I'm typically not a fan of flagship cars, but I have to admit I like, I like.

F1 paddle shifting is better than nothing....

True, But nissan is a little shady with their HP numbers. The lexus LS430 with 290hp is quicker than the Q45 with 340 hp. Honda being.......Honda.. will def give that m45 v8 a run for its money... Besides, if that 340hp v8 beats you in a straight line, race it in a curve, then see who wins.

The current M45 with 340 hp was tested to 60 at 5.7. That is pretty quick for a heavy car (they have dynoed pretty accurately too). LS430 has better gearing than the Q45. The Q45's lousy gearing and heavy weight contributed to its initial slow times. Nissan corrected that after 2 years and now the Q has had numbers that are around 5.9 to 60 which is exptected for its hefty size. The new M45 will be a heavy car no doubt and looks bigger than the RL but we'll see if the 3.5L has enough torque to get the car moving. I bet the lack of displacement will hurt the 0-60 and 1/4 times.

I'd be happy if they could stick the 4.5L into the G35 coupe. That would be a fast car

I think the LS 430 got a 5.6 run to 0-60 in the lastest Motor Trend. Lexus rates it at 5.9 with the same 290hp. The 6-speed helps. U can also manually control from gears 1-6. With Lexus E-shift, it was 2-5.

I've driven all 3 cars and they all felt quick. I could not say one felt faster than the other. I was just SHOCKED by the LS 430 though. FOr such a big car, it has a drag of .25 and it's quick as hell, 50hp short of the Infinitis.

EZZ, rumors were the 4.5 was going into the next GT-R but now I hear it is pretty much confirmed, a TT 3.5 VQ. Still 4 years to go though. We'll see.

Yeah the LS is a quick car, especially now with the 6 speed automatic. It also handles well believe it or not, it just isn't an engaging ride, so it doesn't encourage corners but will tackle them just fine. The sport suspension does wonders for it and doesn't make the ride any worse either.

re RL interior pics from Acura prototype minisite

The interior shots of the new RL are growing on me big time. Everything seems so logically laid out and the real wood (appears to be burled walnut) warms things up. I think Acura decided that the display needed to be up high so perhaps are giving up the touch-screen capabilities in favor or joystick input. Either way, the center console has just the right number of buttons. I also like the steering wheel with its smallish "A" and edgy molding. I couldn't figure out what the buttons do on the lower left spoke as the are cut off in the enlarged steering wheel picture on the site. Gone is the tape deck (antiquated but useful as an MP3 adapter input) and perforated leather of the TL. The instrument gauges have the same cool blue as the TL. The new RLs leather looks fairly traditional luxury car.

I think the interior is a winner.

It would be better to stick with the touch screen. I'm trading in my 04 Maxima which had only joystick control. It was a pain, trust me. You really want, at the least, the ability to use the touch screen with the joystick as an option.

The C Pillar styling looks a little like the TSX. Nice, very classy, typically conservative for the market they are going after. Should sell like hotcakes.

What a waste of technology and beauty---no stick=no dice

That car is just what I would like to get at this stage of the game called life-300hp, AWD, gorgeous interior and pefect luxury type exterior look, but alas it doesn't come in a stick. Oh why or why do my tastes fall into such a small market niche. I want a luxury sedan, that has mucho non turbo generated HP, AWD, navigation, and a stick shift. Is that too much to ask? right now its just compromises to choose from-such as the TL, G35, and S60R.

What a car; should really sell. I can already envision one to replace the TL in a few years.

The M prices on the infiniti site are by no means final. They want to see what kinda of options people click on at what prices. They did the same thing with the QX56 before it was released.

even with 300hp, honda will probably get a sub six second 0-60 and a low 14 to high 13 1.4 mile... I have faith in vtec and honda gearing...

I just hope the torque is unlike the usual honda engine, with 300hp and 300+ torque.

Torque is directly correlated with displacement. Unlike horsepower, its very difficult to increase torque without increasing the displacement. I bet the RL will have significantly less torque than its competitors. I'm still a little disappointed that Honda decided not to use the hybrid motors to add some torque down low

i was thinking the same thing, but american cars most of the time have a more torque than HP. I was hoping maybe Honda was able to do the same thing... and I like you am also dissapointed about the electric motors. Was the electric motors ever confirmed? Or was it just a rumor? I dont want to but the RL this year and find out they have the electric motors next year... that would hurt.
