Is it just me or am I the only person that has an 04TL that sidemarkers does not blink with left, right, or emergency blinkers. I mean they look cool with the lights on but it looks so much better when merging lanes and the side markers are blinking, as on the BMW'S.

 

they are not suppose to blink... you can rewire them to blink, check the 3G garage, there is a tutorial on there on how to modify them

 

i was always told that if i didnt have anything nice to say i shouldnt say anything at all, so that is what i will do

Does making this kind of change void the warranty at all? I would love to do it but I'm no electrician.

 

I would say any electrical change would void the warranty for the associated parts.

would void the warranty for the side markers... but the likely hood you damage something (as long as you follow instructions) is slim to none

 

give him a break. I see millions of threads in here that keep repeating... like BUTT PRINTS, VIBRATION. Why don't you both go in those threads and tell them to search.

well anyway, the mod would void some stuff, but only if something goes wrong with that particular part....like my fog light mod for example won't be detected because i always keep the switch off when i take it in for service....

Actually Acura would have to prove that the mod damaged other parts in the car, in actuality, it operates with better isolation than the brake lights/regular lights do.

Acura uses just a diode to prevent back feeding the parking lights when the brakes are applied.

The only difference between applying the brake light signal to the tails and the parking light power is the use of a different resistor value (lower resistance on the brake circuit, hence brighter lights).

The above info on the brakes was from the Svc Manual (which was not available when I did the mod originally).

The blinking side markers use a fully isolated circuit (via the contacts in the relay) and no back feed leakage through the diodes like the Acura system can do.

Based on their own circuit design for the brake and parking lights on the tail lights, they would be hard pressed to prove the mod caused other problems in the car (remember they have to prove that the mod made the other parts fail, and LED's have a theoretical life of over 200,000 hours, more like 10k hours in real life, way more than any light bulb).

Just have an experienced person do the mod to be safe.
