Whenever the MID said to. Have always followed the MID. It ends up being roughly every 7000-9000 miles for me. (I do a lot of highway driving.)

3. How often did you change your transmission fluid?
First drain-and-fill at 90k. Have done a drain-and-fill roughly every 15k since then.

4. Does your car still run like it is brand new?
Yes!

Here's the list of all problems I've had:
  • 37,258 Bluetooth mic making crackling noise for listener on other end. Fixed under warranty. Cost: $0.00
  • 67,000 Battery died when car was 3 years old. I consider this too soon. Cost: $69.70
  • 121,711 Replaced 3rd & 4th gear transmission sensors to cure transmission shudder. Cost: $129.69
  • 123,000 Battery died again only 2 1/2 years after previous replacement. Again, I consider this too soon. Cost: $53.02 (1/2 year of proration applied from the 3 yr battery warranty.)
  • 132,108 Timing Belt Tensioner was causing a loud noise upon startup in the cold. Replaced tensioner. Cost: $250.87
UPDATE: I'm over the 160k mark. Only new issues that popped up since the above list was to replace the front LCA bushings. (Although I did just spend a ton of money replacing wheels, tires, brakes and suspension.) Still drives like new, especially with the fresh tires and A-Spec suspension.

lol my driver seat is starting to look a little busted. Passenger not as bad, and my rear seats look brand new. This leather is definitely not the best though. I have sat in type S seats and they feel much better quality than mine.

158,000 miles and doing good should be in the 200,000 miles club next year and hoping to see 300,000. Bought it new and just minor things here and there, keep the fluids fresh and change those transmission pressure switches and you should be good to go.

My 2004 TL is at 172,500 miles right now and running fine. I put about 90k miles on it over the last 4 years when I took a job with a longer commute. I have no doubt this car could hit 300k.

I change the oil every 5k, the transmission fluid I have changed about every 10K miles. This is a little bit overboard but the previous owner only changed the fluid once in 84k miles and it has been difficult to get that nice pink color a tranny fluid should have.

04 Auto with 106K bought it at 46K.

1. What type of oil did you use? Penzoil.
2. When did you first change your oil (in terms of mileage)? I follow MIDI for changes.
3. How often did you change your transmission fluid? Did 3x3 with pressure switches at 50K will do another 3x3 soon. OEM fluid only.
4. Does your car still run like it is brand new? It runs pretty good for milage.

Happy with the car I don't drive it much due to work travel and working from home. I plan on selling it by end of the year.

I'm at 165k now. Had an issue with my driver window - cable snapped so had to replace everything. Drivers seat leather has cracked. Looks horrible. And my right blinker is not working, need replace the switch/relay/whatever.

Otherwise, no issues.

I just passed 60K in my '04 MT two days ago.
I'm the second owner, previous owner didn't drive the car much, probably cause its a stick and it was an older couple. I bought the car with 42K back in 2010.

1. Mobile1 Full Synthetic
2. Every 5000 to 6000 miles
3. Changed the trans fluid 10k after I bought the car
4. Bought K&N drop in, clean every other oil change.
5. car runs great

Bought mine with 96060 and now I'm sitting a 140501 miles and counting. I average about 5000 miles a month. I travel for my job and spend a lot of time behind the wheel. Drivers seat is in pretty good condition for how much in and out it sees.
1. Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W-30 and Royal Purple oil filters.
2. Did oil change and spark plugs shortly after getting it.
3. Only have done 1 ATF change with Redline Racing ATF. I have put on about 25k miles since this and tranny shifts smooth.
4. Car still runs as good as the day I purchased it.

Memo?

Corcraft bought his car with ~216k on it: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/so-ends-mmade22-sells-tl-moves-into-gs-thanks-everything-azine-791926/

Although I'm not 100% positive, I think it had gotten Mobil1 oil changed at ~5,000 mile intervals. Mostly highway miles.

Yeah, sorry wrong person. Had 1 too many tonight. I'd say about this time next year I should be close if not breaking the 200k mark. That's if she doesn't get retired before then.

These threads will only get better with time. Heck, I just saw a seriously-faded-paint Acura Vigor today and it was running like a champ. Was tempted to roll down the window and ask "How many miles on her?" And then give a no matter what the number.

^ no doubt. Back when I was in high school (98'-99') my buddy's dad had a 92' Integra with over 300k on it and the only major mechanical work it needed was an alternator and water pump.

Today's automobiles are made much better then they used to be so honestly 100-200k really isn't amazing. You break 300k then we're talking. Just imagine hitting 315k and doing your 3rd 105k maintenance.

OT, but Acura recently celebrated this one guy with a Legend coupe 5MT with over 500k on the original engine and transmission, and he actually took care of the exterior as well. Read more here: http://drivetofive.wordpress.com/

I plan to run my TL for quite some time, at least 200k (~67k current).
