Congratulations! I think your the first one with an 06 here! So how does the TPMS work? Does it show the pressure of each wheel?

nah theres no new suspension on the 06, well not that i've heard of. The only difference in the 06 from the 05 is the TPMS. Sucks to hear that it doesnt display the psi of each wheel like the RLs

I'm almost positive that you hit the talk button, not the voice command, and then just say "phone setup."

Congrats on the car

As for the phone setup, just follow these steps

- Push the phone button on the left hand side of the steering wheel (large button with the phone on it). Your MID should say "Main Menu".

- Press the button again and say "Phone Setup"

- Then hit the button again (before or after listening for the options) and say "Pair".

- Then just make sure your BT is on your phone and make the phone look for new devices. That should get you going.

Enjoy the new ride

If you push that select button thats above the < info > button while looking at the "tire pressure OK" screen you get:

Nice! Did they budge on price for an 06? And did they also have an 05 in stock when you made your purchase? Just curious to know if we would of waited if a deal could of been made on an 06.

You would be a god if you did.

I'm almost ready to air down my spare tire and go to discount to have em remove the tire so i can see how the sensor is mounted. If you're serious about doing it, thats enough curiousity to push me to break that tire down to find out. Like the tech at the dealer told me, its supposed to be removable. Has to be some kind of battery powered gadget, but i would be really impressed if it got its power from moving around like those kinetic watches.

06 Nav Disc

Can you tell us what version of the NAV DVD was included? Another thread said there was a new version (3.5) coming at the end of October. I would think the 2006 would have it already. I believe you can find out the version by going to "setup" screen. Trying to figure out if the 2006 TL has the updated NAV like the new Honda's, which is suppose to have many more voice commands (500 Vs 250?) and a faster processor. I'm hoping the TL has the updated Nav.

it says on mine -

Database Version:
20050622

Software Version:
ver. 1.1100

so definately not the oct revision, not surprising though considering it was probably built in september ( I could check my door sticker ).

n1976,

you'll probably get the updated disc sent to you for free. I bought my car in October of last year and they sent me the latest update in February for free.

If you have to buy it, it looks like $180.00. There is an Acura site https://iweb.alpine-usa.com/Acuradvdsales/naviorder.php that sells it. The latest version according to this Acura site is 3.40, so the numbers you were able to see must not be the revision of the DVD.

Found this on another thread under the NAV thread ....The easy way is to check the DVD - is in the trunk and should pop right out like a normal CD ROM. Car power should be on to do this. The two keys are the color and version.

Was your CL-S an 6MT or 5AT? And what do you think of the stock TL suspension compared to the CL-S?

I traded in my 2001 CL-S (5AT, the only offering) for the 2005 TL Navi at the end of July. I liked the softer ride the TL offered over the CL-S but hated the bounce, squat and nose drive on bumps, acceleration and hard braking. I installed the A-Spec suspension last weekend to improve these things. The handling is much improved but of course the ride is little harder (not bad though). It is similar to the CL-S now. I'm not sure if it handles better than the CL-S with the A-Spec suspension since I haven't pushed very hard. The wider tires on the TL should help here. The TL 6MT is a totally different feel than the CL-S 5AT.

I had the 03' CL-S with 5AT, the TL suspension is a little smoother(but handles just as good to me) and still getting used to quieter exhaust, but it's nice being queiter as I get older, I will leave the suspesnsion on the TL alone, its fine with me, the CL-S had 215 and this one has 235 wide tires, and with the navi got the Michelin tires instead of the Bridgestones.... the Michelin's are the same model as the CL-S which I liked... the cabin does seem to be quieter than the CL-S for city and highway driving so far... not that the CL-S was loud.... also, i am not experiencing the rattles that I have heard so much about from the 04 and 05's so far, which is nice....... and I did hear the rattles from the back deck in July when I had the 05 TL as a loaner(which may not be the best test but....)

I don't know why u get different tires just cause of the navi...... but am happy with it cause the problems I read about the EL42's......

and why front brembo's brakes only because of 6MT?

the only thing I plan to do to this car is a 35 or 20% tint.... but for now nothing.... the CL-S I did 15% all around and 45 on whole windshield... I just like the class/luxury of this car and don't wanna screw up that look... I also noticed they took all the chrome trim away and replaced it with black from the 03' bodies.....

so far all i have to say....

thanks

I agree with your conclusions. The TL is very quiet. The 6MT is a little difficult to let out the clutch just by listening to the engine since it's so quiet. It lacks the wide open throttle roar of the CL-S.

The 6MT has heavier swaybars and Brembo front brakes(lots of brake dust). I've seen the 6MT sometimes listed as "performance" at online parts stores when differentiating the 6MT and the 5AT.

I'm pretty sure that database version is just a date code of year 2005, month June (06), and 22 day of month. Thus, it is the June 22, 2005 map revision.

This is a common way to number things. I'm sure many of you knew or figured this out. But I thought I would post it anyway.

now they say that all the lights are LED( 3rd brake light, tail lights, front parking lights, and side front and rear parking lights) but it looks like the front and rear turn signals have regular light bulbs in them??
