03 AV6 vs Nissan Titan

Was driving home from work today and was making a left hand turn onto a two lane road that funnels down to one lane in about 1/4 mile. As I was turning left a Nissan Titan makes a right hand turn coming from the opposite direction. I look right at him and he looks at me and I just knew it was a race to the merge haha! he turns into the right lane and im about 2 car lengths back turning into the left lane. I hear him floor it and I followed suit. the tranny downshifted to 1st gear at about 15MPH and by the end of 1st gear I could already see me gaining some ground. 2nd gear I had a nice steady pull on the Titan where I had caught up to his rear bumper at about 70MPH and by 85MPH in 3rd gear I had about 1-2 full lengths on him easy. After the race we pulled up to the red light and I gave him thumbs up. I know he had an exhaust but I couldn't tell if he had anything else. Couldn't tell what year titan but it didn't look like my cousins 08 Titan with the revisions. From a even start I know it would have been no contest(already beat down my cousins 08 Titan with I/E) but it was fun playing catchup and still pulling out the win!

already completed that Your right, it was close! My buddy dave owns a 2010 Tundra 5.7L Limited 4door short bed. He got beat 6 out of the 7 times we raced at the track by me. We raced on the street before hand and he was at my rear bumper at 85MPH. We are about .1-.2 tenths apart on the average and I trap about 2MPH more than he does. Those trucks are no joke! I could only imagine if he had the 2 door short bed version that weighs a good 500lbs less im sure.

I'm guessing he's running stock tires as well.. If he ran a stickier tire I bet he'd shave off substantial time on the 1/4.

he didn't have a problem with traction. Not only are we at a higher elevation here but the track is prepped very well here. You just get a slight chirp and your off with cars like ours. We switched drivers too so I got a good feel for the tundra out of the hole shot. On the street we both could use some stickier tires!

Motor Trend did a 14.2@97mph in a 2-door Tundra 5.7 6AT. It was one of their bang for the buck rides of 07 or 08. Can't remember.

haha...what amg suv beats the x6m

I'll get a benz when they make one that doesn't weigh as much as my 2500 silverado and can handle...

Actually that new e63 is supposed to be pretty good on the track, unfortunantly it is not the best thing to look at...i'll wait for the 2011 m5 ~600hp

As fast as the ML63 may be, the X6M is one beast in this category than can take the ML.

BMW has just started to make the X5M and the X6M. Benz has had AMG on the ML and the G wagon for years. I was mainly talking about the overall performance and reliability of the engines hand made by AMG. Benz has a much wider range of cars that have AMG.

Thats because bmw has been focused on true performance cars not suvs with massive power...but for amg i guess its ok because their cars already weigh as much as normal suv's *this is all in good fun of course* dont get all amg fanboi on me
