as long as my car is faster than let's say 70% of the cars on the road. I'll be happy with the figure.

You are right on the money. Most people can't even hit a 14.9 with a base TL auto. Most I see are 15.1-15.3. A intake will get you into the high 14's.

Knock off about a half second for the 3rd gen TL-S auto.

Yup doesnt matter what kind of TL you have they are all pretty much slow. The TL-S's are respectable but still by no means fast.

With the high end of stock trap speeds being 99mph, you could hit 13.8 pretty easily on a set of drag radials and a manual transmission stock.

Exactly. They're very respectable for what they are but I would never think of taking one to the races.

I should try this, just for shits and giggles.

With the drag radials, isn't there more of a chance for something to break on launch? I can't imagine it's good when you rev to 4rpm, drop the clutch and the car jerks forward harshly!

0 to 60

Stock my 06 TL auto ran 6.6 0 to 60.With mid muffler removed and custom stock air box with K+N filter per my Gtech ran 6.2.Both runs on same road about same temps.I also ran my Gtech at the track when I ran my truck at Atco last year and it was almost dead on.Track times also very from track to track.

I would love to see a G-tech that wasn't horribly optimistic. I've run it along with a group of my friends at the track and the mph is typically 5+mph high. The ET is sometimes within half a second but I've seen it a full second low. IMO, they're good for estimating performance to the nearest full second but that's it.

Car & Driver found the same thing when they tested a group of them at a track against the clocks. It took a lot of 1/4 mile runs to get them anywhere near calibrated.

Think a lot of people love them because they show better results then reality does.
