I mean it's a piece of plastic right? Gee I wonder how much profit they make from those.

Did you seriously have to make a thread about this? The demand is low, so the supply is low making the product more expensive. If you don't like the price, buy a replica from the "thespoilerstore" on eBay for less than $125 shipped to your house.

Sorry sometimes I make silly threads that shouldn't be made. But most of my threads are legit. Bad day.

Just get one from eBay. I did. The price and quality is great. Paint color was a perfect match. Plus, no one would ever know its a replica unless you tell them.

Its a nice mod though. I have the OEM one...replica probably is a better idea for the price.

Jeez, let's be easy on this person.
After seeing so many cheap Chevy's with spoilers around here, I think our cars look fine without one. I would spend money on window tint instead.

Those tall rear deck spoilers are too tall in my opinion. The rear of these TL's are really big already without adding all that tall fin like its a corvette or something. So I went with the small spoiler.. Its less than a hundred too. But ya know.. to each their own. If you want to install that huge tail fin, then go for it. But it will also weigh down your truck a lot too. So it may not pop up when it hit the button.

Acura OEM spoilers, whether you get the lip or the big wing, will come with the stronger trunk springs so that the trunk will still pop up just as much as before.

Huge? What do you call evo's/sti's then? Massive? Unbearable? The Tls rise up two inches max and its probably the least gap spoiler I have ever seen. It also flares up on the sides like the a spec from 04-06 and I like it.

it's also F'ing ugly. Doesn't go with the lines of the TL at all I think. Lip spoiler is much better IMO. Subtle, yet make a difference

What is the purpose of the lip spoiler? Just for look?

Acura raised the price on the TL-S one after it came out, it was around 150 first and then thousands were bought! After that they realized the demand and jacked up the price. Since then, it's dwindled down.

the type-s decklid is noticably more aggressive than the base decklid and i think it fits the shape of the car best out of all other options.. i'd go type-s or no spoiler IMO

Ummm..Nope.

On a TL...yes...for the most part.

To say any type of spoilers purpose is for looks is completely false. Obviously their effect on downward force and traction are significant, but only at high speeds.

Aside from the fact that I have one, I think the normal spoiler matches the line of the car perfectly...I love it.

post a wtb thread in the black market, ive seen quite a few used ones go for like 150. and since u have to paint it AM, you can pretty much buy any color, which broadens your selection

don't give up on it, the TL looks fine without a spoiler.. jus b patient and find that type-s one befoer someone else gets it

I haven't seen a OEM Type-S spoiler in the Black Market since I've joined. It's bolted onto the trunk (if I'm not mistaken), so no one would dare sell it unless there going to do something else. Only ones you see are the ones from thespoilerstore or some other OEM replica spoilers suppliers.

just sayin... not the most popular thing to see go up for sale but a couple go up each year. it is drilled into the trunk but people still take them off. btw TheChamp these all went on sale around/after u joined azine. not bashin on u or anythin or saying you're wrong but im just trying to show that people actually DO sell them

BTW the lid spoiler is categorized as an accessory hence the high price, the Type S spoiler at first was categorized as a body part so the price was ridiculously low. Once every one started jumping on it Acura categorized it as an accessory hence marking the price accordingly.

people are willing to pay as much as the dealer sells it to them for. I suggest ebay and get one for around 100 dollars.

Sorry for the ignorance, but what is the difference between the A-spec and TLS spoiler? I thought they were the same (lip style) until I read this thread...

Is the TLS spoiler a tad taller or something??

The TL-S decklid also has a bit more of a curving "upswoop" to it, where the A-Spec is more of a straight incline.

I was looking into getting this from the Spoiler Store. My TL is CGP and I don't see that listed as a standard color they have. They do mention "We can paint any other color for an additional charge of $40.00".

Has anyone with a CGP TL ordered the lip spoiler from here and had it painted CGP? I'm curious if the color is a good match. Since it's not a standard color they have in stock it just makes me a little nervous.
