Waiting on my RLX!

Hello all! I'm new to the Acurazine community, though I've owned 3 RL's since '99.
I ordered on July 3rd and am still waiting for a Gilded Pewter Advanced RLX.
Anyone else have to wait this long??

Welcome to Acurazine! Actual owners will chime in shortly, I'm sure. I get the feeling from their posts that they obtained product on the ground rather than ordering, as Acura has been ramping up dealers' supply. Have you contacted other dealers, or asked your dealer if your combination is at another dealer so they can do a switch?

Actually, there are only three dealers in my state (SC), two of which are owned by the same dealer I buy from. They say they've sent dragnets out over several states. Last week my car was waiting to be shipped from Japan. I'm told it should be here by month's end. Here's hopin'!

I bought my Gilded Pewter Advanced last weekend, on the lot. My dealer had 38 RLXs on the lot.

Wow! That's a great looking car!
I've own three silver RL's since '99.
I chose the pewter sight unseen and was a little apprehensive, but based of your pics, I really excited about it.

Well, then, here's hoping for no Pacific cyclones in the next 2 1/2 weeks that would disrupt shipping. Good luck!

Congratulations, I know how the anticipation is awaiting it's arrival...
To pass the time you can always download the User and NAV manuals, to provide some "Lite" reading...

Thanks victorber. Good idea.
Between that and reading posts on the forum, time may speed up a bit.

I am sure you will love the car. Have mine for two months now. It's by far the best car I have ever had.

You know, I'm getting the feeling that it will also be my best, as well.

True. It also helps to take looks, from time to time, at the nice pics you shared of your vehicle. They give me the best depictions of the car in that color I have seen under natural lighting conditions.

Just received a surprising call. I'm told that my car is at the dealer! Thought it was coming next week. General sales manager said he has found that he can't rely on the tracking system. Won't see it until tomorrow, but good to know it's here.

Thanks!
And I thought my wait was a long one!

If I were selecting an RL color for the first time, Silver Moon would win hands down. My previous 3 were silver, and I decided a change was due. I know that I will do a double-take, though, when I next see one!

Believe it or not, I will wait until Tuesday.
I'm negotiating with my bank to see if they can come up with a lower rate than either Acura Financial or Bank of America. Also, although I can use one of the other salesmen, my guy is on vacation, and I'll wait for him to come back, because he's chomping at the bit to show me everything he can. He's genuinely super juiced about the Advance! I've been working with him since 2002, so I'll give him that courtesy. Besides, 90% of the anxiety is gone because I know the car is at the dealership. My wife and I went out to see it and to take it for a spin. Wow! I'm experiencing the fun part of waiting that you spoke about!

You have some serious restraint. I'd have taken it and been ripping up the back roads already. Nothing wrong with getting a better deal on financing....you can always invest the difference. $$$

Thanks. Right now, I have only a little over a day and a half to go! Doesn't hurt that I'm still driving an '08 RL that I like.
Acura Financial quoted ~2.24% over two months ago. At the time of the order, it was 3.75.
A local bank offered 2.13, and B of A says no more than 1.99. If that one holds, it will prob be them.

Have you tried credit unions? They offer the best rates.

Try PenFed, also AAA has some decent rates. Not sure if you have to be a full USAA member to get their loan rates, but they gave me a phenomenal deal, I got 1.24% on 72 month loan.

What a special car. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have owned three other RL's. They cannot compare to this vehicle. Unbelievable!

Spend some time with the manuals - it will take time to learn the functions of the RLX. I need to become accustomed to the voice activation commands. There are so many. Get a good quality leather cleaner because the Seacoast color gets dirty easily. My first 'mods' were tint and clear bra. Congrats on the RLX.

Thanks. I have read the manual, and now I will take some time going step-by-step learning of the different operations and commands. I would assume that many of the commands that I have used in my last two RL's are pretty similar. As I familiarize myself with them, I'll certainly find out.
If you will, tell me more about the tint and bra. Why do you recommend a tint and what brand did you use?
I don't know much about the clear bra. Who applies it? Could I reasonably choose to do it myself, and would it be difficult? Does it come off easily?

Several different types of clear bra.

I have used Xpel on my last few daily drivers. You should have a pro do it. While it can be self-applied, those without skills may do poorly because many cars nowadays have so many creases and curves where the clearbra is applied. You don't need to take it off unless it's damaged. I've never needed to remove one.

Keeps that front end nice and spiffy for when you trade in your car or turn in your leased car.
