I would appreciate some feedback from other owners. I like the sound in my 2016 SH-AWD. However, there really is very little bass. I have the sub woofer all the way up and the bass all the way up. I'm not a sub woofer kind of guy, but would like the option if it's supposed to be on the car. How does the sound work for the rest of you? Is a trip to the dealer in the cards for me?

Hey, same thing happened to me too. Often times the bass feels lacking, depending on audio source. My old 08 RL has better bass than the Krell RLX. Satellite radio has better bass than FM or CD. Spotify has better bass than satellite radio. DTS CD has the best bass overall (at least for the few DTS CDs that I have). It's a bummer for the Krell audio to not have stronger bass overall in my opinion, compared to the older Bose system in 2nd generation RL. But it is what it is. You won't notice the lack of bass if you're mostly listening to classical music as I do. I notice it most when my daughter is playing her music in the car for current top hits song - I do wish the car could produce more thumping on the bass.

I think this is caused by the subwoofer being "open air". Basically, it's not in a ported or sealed box and thus gives you crappy sound (the trunk is supposed to be its box, riiiiight). I just wish I had a way to install a decent 10" sub/box in my Hybrid. I'll probably have to get a tube and leave it sitting on the floor behind a seat. :-(

If I had a non-hybrid, I could open the ski pass-though, and bolt something to the rear seat supports to support a box.
