What are your 'AUDIO SETTINGS'?

when i picked up the 08 tech, i noted that the bass and the subwoofer level were at maximum. It sounds great but at times, some songs distort the bass a bit too much. BUT that could possibly be attributed to me using MP3GAIN on some songs to bring up their volume.

Anyways, what settings do you guys have your audio setup to get good overall sound on any type of music?

I have bass, treble, and sub all the way to max. The center speaker right in the middle, and balance and fade right in the middle. I don't usually crank the volume too high, so I don't get any distortion. And I love the way the bass sounds. I noticed that I get a lot more treble when I use my i-pod.

I have the sub all the way up, but bass only half. Any higher and the bass is too much for me. Depends on what music you listen to.

I really wish there were different settings for different inputs. XM sounds like butt so I'd like to pump up the treble and bass on that, but keep it more flat for my iPod which sounds like angels.

So, I kinda split the difference and have treble, bass and sub about 3/4, center just below nominal.

I'm guessing it's the quality of your MP3s. I have no bass distortion at all playing DVD-A discs, and the MP3s I rip at 256-320kbps sound crystal clear too. If you're using the AUX jack, i find that playing through an iPod doesn't sound the greatest either if you're an audiophile. I use a Cowon D2 and it sounds amazing.

Having stuff loaded up in the back affects bass too I think. Can't really feel the sub when there's junk in the trunk. There's a good euphemism in there somewhere...

If you have the sub and the bass level at max, its not a question of will it, just a matter of when it will distort. of course the it will sound good at a low level of volume but the integrity will deteriorate quickly as u put the volume up. However, when listening to XM, whenever i do, i WILL put the bass and sub at 4 each to compensate for the bad quality

i have the bass model but my bass is +2, treb +3 or 4, Sub +3, i never have to stray from that, even when im banging some really hard tech or bass heavy stuff.
