Daylight Savings

a reminder, the RDX was programmed to think today was daylight savings. As we all know, it is not until Nov. 4th this year. Just an FYI if you think your RDX is going crazy.

I am so glad we don't play the silly 'daylight savings time' game here in God's country....

ya my rdx changed the time, confused the heck out of us as we had to pick up a family member at the airport lol and we rush to get into the car and its like an hour behind.

Did people with the new navi disc have this problem? Its a vehicle programmed problem ?

How do you get the upgrade?

Does the dealer do it during service or do you have to pay?

Did anyone notice the clock changed early?

I read that Honda's and Acura's don't have the new Daylight Savings Time info, so the clocks change early. I guess there will be an update eventually? I was curious if maybe the 08's were fixed, because I just noticed that my clock changed already.

08 are fixed and give you the option of the 2 different DST schedules.

If you go into your set up screen, you can turn off the auto daylight saving adjustment.

If you have a RDX Tech, the new nav DVD will fix the problem. George Bush changed the end of daylight savings time by 1 week and every computer in the country needs patching.

The new disk in the 2008 Nav White label has the program fix. If you don't want to buy the new disk then go into your set up and turn off DST. Or you will have one week in the fall that the time is off by one hour.

mau108 is correct. For those with the '07's, you probably have AUTO DST turned off. I know I turned mine off last March.

Cool

Here is the IN mesage about the DST time change:

IN message:

Navi clock changed by one hour before the Daylight Savings Time change occurred

Using the new March-November schedule as mandated by the US government Daylight Savings Time (DST) ends on Saturday, November 3. However, some customers may complain that their navi clock changed on October 27. This is because their navi software is still using the old DST schedule.

If a customer complains that the navi clock is off by one hour, have them go to the Setup “Clock Adjustment” screen and do the following:

· If the clock adjustment screen has a setting called “Daylight Saving,” turn it off

· Adjust the clock back by one hour if necessary

Patch discs will be available soon to correct the DST schedule in the navi software. This fix will apply to customers with navigation systems using either the white or turquoise DVD.

Are they saying the patch is free? Or will they charge $200 for it?

Hey mau108 - I totally forgot to check the DST setting but the clock on my RDX adjusted for the time automatically yesterday. Maybe you can ask Acura for a free DVD upgrade since we got our cars around the same time?

My dealer just told me I'm supposed to get an updated disk in the mail to address this. Anyone else hear this?

Would have been nice to get it before the switch happened. I haven't heard this anywhere, but I'll keep an eye on my mail for it just in case! I wouldn't think that Acura would handle it that way as opposed to just fixing it themselves when you bring it in for service. I would think that you would have to go into diagnostic mode and reload the nav software which isn't something they would want you to do on your own.

Remember that Acura did not make the DST change. GW did that. And it takes a little time to have software ready for production. I have had several customers say they have gotten a new NAV disk. You can change it yourself our swing by service and they will do it for you. You simply eject the old disk and insert the new one just like a cd in the nav head unit. The head unit is under the center console.

If you look at the carpeted area of the center console from the PASENGER SIDE you will see the outline of the panel. Insert your key in the bottom center of the panel and pop it open. Push the open button then the eject button, remove the old disk, insert the new disk. Close door. Reinstall the carpeted panel top side first!!! If this is too technical for anyone the dealer is happy to do it for you right on the service drive. You can be in and out in five minutes!!

These instruction are my own not the official directions.

We never got one either, dealer told us to order it

Our local dealer said we were not entitled to the new one for free, we had to buy it. I ordered it, it should arrive this week. 4.62 version.
