new to board= subwoofer question

Just purchased new TLX with advanced package.
Reviews say the audio is one of the best in the business.
I was pleased to see that system had separate sub woofer and control.
However after i maxed out sub volume I didn't hear the results i expected.
I've had custom installed audio systems in my Audi S4 and you really couldn't max out the sub without sounding like an earthquake.
Everyone has different tastes but the sub in this system is just too tame.
I was going to bring it back to the dealer to see if it was even hooked up.
I don't see much difference when i max out the sub volume and when it is on default setting.

There is a thread in here on how to disable ANC. I found that the sound system is much better after doing that. I also had an aftermarket 12" sub in a previous A4 I owned, and even with ANC off I don't think you'll get the thundering bass you would from a bigger sub, but I find it to be a very good system, especially listening to lossless audio files, after disabling ANC.

I agree that the sub seems to lack a bit of punch, but on some songs it sounds much deeper than others. I'm still trying to determine the best settings/types of songs to feel the best performance, but I'd be open to adding an extra 8 or 10 inch sub somewhere for a little more.

Dizfoogeofrey,
Disabling ANC in the developer menus helps considerably. Disabling SVC (speed volume control) in your audio settings seems to help as well. Those two will get you a "little" boost in bass out of the ELS system.

It will still likely be underwhelming...
