I don't know which change occasioned this, but I notice that I can now use the REPLY function of the head unit when somebody sends me a message and it shows on the top screen.

The changes are:

1. The latest map/software update for this year
2. iOS 13

Before those changes, I've never been able to use the REPLY function of the RLX's messaging system.

 

Yeah! As it turns out, my car has just recently stopped sending messages to my iPhone (with iOS 12.3.1) at all, and I haven't been able to fix it. Anyone else lose messages?

 

I forgot to mention that for the first time ever, the system identifies who's messaging you instead of just saying the message is there.

So many times in the past I've received messages that could have come from more than one person, and my reply or attention to it would need to vary, depending on who sent it.

 

Must be the iOS because my navigation version is still the original and I just tested the reply feature and yes it works. I have the latest iOS 13.3 on my iPhone 7 Plus.

 

iOS 13 brought back my text messages as well, and, now new at last, the ability to reply. Yeah!
