Diagnostic Messages

I just happened to check my "AcuraLink Connect" app earlier today and noticed I had some notifications highlighted in orange.

I went into the car a little while ago, hit 'info' went to messages and went into diagnostic messages.

I had a few messages that concerned me, I had a PAWS error (something along the lines of: )

"Your PAWS is not functioning, please restart the car."

"Your electronic parking brake is not functioning, please do not park on an incline"

"Your lane departure and forward collision warning system has overheated and will return to function when the front camera cools down"

These messages are about 2 weeks old, but I got no "warning" flash or anything to that effect, just the little acura envelope on the nav screen (which I always got used to during the first month of owning my previous TLs, always gave tips the first few weeks)

There really should be a full screen popup or at least on the MID that theres an error with a vital

Anyone else have these errors?

These types of error should come up in the MID on your instrumentation panel when they occur. Usually they will come up as soon as the car is started and the systems try to initialize. However, once they have been displayed, you will not be able to see/find them again in the MID. They are logged and archived in the diagnostic page where you are finding them. I'm not sure why you didn't see them in the MID when they occurred.

I've seen the error about the FCW and LDW overheating being displayed on the MID a few times the car was out in the hot sun for long periods of time. I can't speak for the other errors though.

I, too, have experienced the LKAS and LDW warnig due to hot sun exposure. Took about 5 minutes of driving to cool the camera down to activate them again.

Thank you for looking up those codes!

I think I figured out when it happened. I dropped my car off to be tinted, and they had it overnight (6/17, 6/18) and probably had the car in ACC mode running the heater to help the windows cure. So the battery theory sounds about right

Update: After my initial post I had a strange problem. I started my car, it began to boot up and then the nav, radio screens, and clock went blank. AC still worked, MID still worked (to a degree, nav/compass didnt work)...Tried restarting the car, still blank. Pulled into my office and stood inside for around 20 minutes. Came out, started the car and everything seemed fine.

The next day I go to look up traffic on the nav, and it says traffic unavailable. I look up and my AcuraLink light is red. I call AcuraLink from my phone and they said they thought it was a system glitch. While on the phone, I go into info and check my AcuraLink status and it says "Check Antenna". The AcuraLink rep tells me to go into my dealer.

Took the car into the dealer today about the AcuraLink not working and the car electronics just dying on me that day.

After about 4-5 hours they give me a call and said they spoke to Acura and were told they'd need to replace a hard drive in the car. From what they told me, this drive is responsible for the nav/radio/BT/acuralink service

It's a special order part, and takes 2-3 weeks to come in, and about 4-5 hours of labor to replace.

Really a pain to have this going on, only have 1400 miles on the car.

I'm having similar issues with my new 2016 RLX-SHJ - 1400 miles and 2 weeks old. Mid day drive on a sunny day (after 3 days of rain -in case this is a factor) had an error message come up saying the electric parking brake was malfunctioning. Then another saying the emissions was in error. I used the acura link button to call them up and they said they would send a tow truck (I am 40 miles of congested freeway from a dealer). That was 2 in the afternoon. Sometime later I got a recorded call saying the tow truck was on its way and they would call me again after the pickup. At 7 that night they hadn't arrived, I used the emergency button - by error, but they connected me over and I spoke with them again and they apologized, blaming the tow truck. I told them they could have called. If I had been on the side of the road it would have been ugly. I was at work and another

car available.
Hopefully they will make it right.

I had the same problem on a return trip from Bar Harbor/Mt Washington and had my dash light up like a Christmas Tree with the same brake problem, called Acura and they said they could see what I was seeing and recommended I pull off the road and they would send a Roll Back.
I asked the Acura person where was the closet dealer, he said Syracuse (135 miles) I told him to notify the dealership of my arrival at 1:30pm and I would drive it. At the dealership they troubleshot the problem and stated it was a Oxygen Sensor, and had me on the road.

All that from a Oxy Sensor, who would have known...
