But here is the answer. I don't mind and it's not really a secret.
I paid 62,500.
That includes destination but not TTL, and it does not include the things that I added after the sale.
I probably could've got it for 61,500 but he teased me about calling me as soon as he got the car, before anybody else could see it.
So the 1,000 was something I agreed was "fair" [sic].
:-)
Where is your Hybrid?

I have had Hondas, Acuras, Nissans, Toyotas, and Fords. Most recently Acura and Toyota. Want to do the deal but nervous about first gen and some of the posts about suspension rattle. Looked at Q50Hybrid but boards are full of negative comments about InTouch.

I saw my dealer this week since they offered a free detailing for your Acura after you owned it for 45 days, and they just sold a RLX SH AWD. I talked to him about the pricing and he told me the person who brought it put a down payment and wanted a better price when it came in then the MSRP. They told him no way since the the SH AWD would probably be the only one they get this year and they felt they would have no problem find a buyer. However, the two I seen on this forum did get a great deal. It probably depends on your dealer, how many they will get and your location. I wish you the best of luck!
There's others in the area now, though, from Baltimore through DC and NoVA. Mostly Silver Moon but one Pewter.

I felt I wasn't remembering the price totally correctly, so I went out and dug out the paper work.
62,255.** is what it was, not the 62,500 that I said.
I really added quite a bit, however. All kinds of accessories and interior and exterior protection sealants.
This car's the one I'm likely to hang onto for a while, I think.

The Sport Hybrid system is advanced and more aggressive than the SH-AWD on the new TLX or the old TL, but it is hindered by the fact that it is trying to manage such a big car. When it hooks, it hooks quickly. It makes decisions better than the TLX SH-AWD, IMHO.
The Sport Hybrid will surprise you in many ways, but it's not a Miata or a Type R. This is a big honkin' car, and all that HP and all that vectoring can't make it the equal of a smaller car. It's awesome...but it's still big.
It seems more agile than a modern era Bentley Connie, if that helps.
Hope that helps. If there's a specific question, I'd be happy to answer it, and then Malibu Flyer and I can argue about which of us is experiencing it correctly.
LOL....
Something that I forgot to mention, and something that drivers will notice after a short time behind the wheel, is that the Sport Hybrid will vector off throttle.
That makes a big difference with some things.

Thanks again.
The brakes are much improved over the preproduction car and better than they are on most conventional cars, IMHO.
The best way I can describe it is that the brakes are always hard, feeling more or less "pre-charged" all of the time. The pedal's nice and firm all of the time.
The brakes feel exactly like what we want the brake pedal to feel like on the track, but we can never manage it quite this well 100% of the time.
I'm aware that Malibu doesn't like the way they feel, but personally, I think they're better than any other out of the box car I've driven in a very long time.
There's something I wonder about, though. If they already feel this pre-charged, and we encounter a situation where CMBS has pre-charged them again, I wonder if we're not going to go into an instant four-wheel ABS threshold situation.
Maybe that's what we want.

No! Not for me!

When I experienced the grabbiness of the brakes I was driving very aggressively, in Sports mode. That was during my test drive when I wanted to access the handling of the car. Since I have been driving in normal driving, on my daily commute and around town in Drive mode, I have not experienced the brakes grabbing. In "normal" driving the braking has been smoother. Little if any noticeable difference from my RL.
Don't get carried away. It's not a race car, and there's only 74 HP on the rear, unlike the 4G TL 6-6 which would put a lot of power back there.
RA-1 or something similar will cause the car to go up on the springs too much.
Sometimes an instructor will face the unfortunate task of having to tell a student that it is dangerous to have his Hoosiers on his stock suspension car, and you're not going out with him until he puts street tyres back.
It's an interesting idea. As we put miles on these things and find the limits, we'll know more.

Congratulations Zoomer.
Huge thanks to you and George Knighton and Malibu Flyer for keeping us supplied with feedback on the Sport Hybrid - we are all living vicariously through you guys with more than a little envy added to the mix.

We might have a hard time answering that. We aren't going to hear the motor as much, partly because it's not turned on all the time, and partly because (for some unknown reason) they made the interior quieter.
I had not paid attention until the questions was asked but I totally agree with George. At start the car can be silent or the engine can kick in. If the engine kicks in it might be in VCM mode. I have not heard the ticking sound but will pay attention to it. On the inside the car is SILENT (as silent as you would want it to be).
Ok...so I listened carefully in my garage with no other sound other than the RLX SH AWD. There is a little bit of ticking noise and by no means I would call it "crazy". The sound is most likely from the high pressure fuel system that is used for DI engines. All DI engines make noise but some car companies do a better job of insulating the noise at idle.
Given the feedback thus far on the RLXh, it's very depressing. With the limited number of '14s and the very unlikely chance of any going on the used/CPO market, like the hoards of PAWS and the '15/'16s completely unknown, I've gotta get this baby off my radar.
It might be easier if I could find a suitable '11/'12 RL
Drat!

With Tesla opening a dealership in the Cleveland area in November, I am again wondering if a Model S is my next move. At least I know when Tesla is building Model Ss, unlike Acura and the RLX SH.
