Agree, ask. I see plenty of 2016 PAWS RLXs on dealer lot inventory. They have completed that build out run as the 2016 SH RLXs are about to appear at select dealerships. That would make the PAWs models ripe for discounting.

You should also drive one to see if you find the modifications and content additions acceptable to your expectations.

I understand you are feeling toxic with Acura at the moment. I have hit that point a few times myself. I see the only solutions to either 1) Assess the new model as acceptable to your expectations or 2) find another product that will do so. Either way, having a plan and something to look forward too is better than living in regret. On the bright side, it is a lease.

I can say I spent 8 months driving cars, assessing brands, researching, reading online forums and went as far as ordering an Audi A8 before I came full circle back the SH RLX. And that was by being contacted while sailing Iceland and Greenland that one was assigned to my dealer for me.

I have not completed my journey as you may have read, but I am too old to EVER invest this much time, energy, aggravation and grief for ANY car EVER again.

Already did that. And he said the hit would not be good due to the poor resale value of the car, the poor market perception, and the lack of any incentives on the 2016 SH-AWD. He said they'd also have a hard time getting my car sold as a result of all of this without dropping the sale price well below what it would take to make up whats left owed on the 12-months. So he said best option was to wait. We also had a lengthy discussion about the RLX as a whole, all the issues to date, to which many if them he agreed to.

I know incentives and options are different for the PAWS model, but I don't want a PAWS model anymore because I want a HUD. Period. And Acura has yet to make that feature an option available in any other vehicle except the most difficult vehicle they make to find...the Hybrid. Yet I can get a fully functioning HUD in just about every other brand in cars that are in a lower tier than the RLX. I honestly dont care or need/want the SH-AWD. It would be nice, but dont need it. What I do want/need is a HUD. It is a major driving enhancement for me.

So I am stuck with this whole mess. And Acura doesn't give a damn.

This we do agree, a 2014 with low milage RLX for 50% of its original value, boy talk about depreciation. RLX used 2014 trade in value for $29 to 32K and used 2015 for $39 to 44k. But as you and the folks on this forum have said, no marketing of it, their not selling just sitting on dealer lot and there are plenty starting to pop up for sell with low milage. I guess I better have another scotch. FYI, I have been looking at other cars all over 90k and here are some of the offers for my car - MB $42k, Porsche $44k, Tesla $39k and BMW $42k. Boy these numbers make me want to have another drink, maybe a double.

Isn't this similar to depreciation of some of the German cars? Those cars depreciate pretty fast, much faster than the typical Acura. So Acura is, with this car, matching die Deutschen in one way....

I don't agree with your statement. The residual value for the German cars, based on my talking with them, I was told is 47 to 49% on a three yr lease. If the 2014 RLX are selling for $29k to $32k you are getting the same depreciation for a 2 yrs 2014 RLX car as a 3 yr German car. Now this is based on MSRP. For the 2015 RLX Advance with offers of $39 to $44k, that equals a 36% to 28% depreciation from the MSRP.

Hard not to be a little embittered. You give up some panache to buy an Acura, to buy a rock solid, well engineered car from the moment it's new on the market, and it just didn't work out that way.

Then, the P-AWS just hasn't caught on, even before the TSB's started rolling up, and the reasons have been discussed on this board ad nauseum.

So now you are locked into a car that some of you may not enjoy driving, can't trade in without taking a bath, and the damn thing won't likely wear out for 14 years.

Either you live with the car, or you take the bath on the trade in.

Something similar did happen to me with a 1986 Merkur XR4Ti that was a mass of problems almost from new. I wrote a letter to Ford, then, and they sent me a voucher good for 1/16th of the original value of the car....towards a new Ford. I have yet to buy that car, though (the coupon expired long ago). So I took the bath and have gone on to buy other unreliable German built cars. I am sympathetic, and surprised by this Honda Corp. failure, but I do hope Acura will offer some "let down customer" money for owners of the 2014 RLX for those wanting a later, non beta, RLX.

After all, I still remember that Ford did acknowledge that they had let me down. Though I still have not found a Ford I would consider buying, I did buy my daughter a Ford Focus that she chose and that she has liked. I didn't try to talk her out of it.

Well, to be honest, the XR4Ti was a POS, but that is another topic for another forum....

....and even Acura has an occasional dud. The 4G TL, RLX PAWS, and the pre-MMC ILX just were duds that happened one after another in a small time period. Acura is now trying to regain ground in the sedan world and is doing pretty well with the post-MMC ILX and the TLX. Hopefully, that good luck will rub off on the RLX soon.

With all due respect, I don't think the 4G TL was a dud. Sales dud perhaps, but one hell of a well built, fun, reliable car. Not sure if you ever owned one....

I don't need Consumer Reports to tell me what I like. I like the RLX too, even if mainstream says it's a dud....

I would add too that the TLX loaner I have driven on a few occasions sucks. Cheaper fit and finish to the 4G TL by far and I would never consider buying one. I see the TLX as Acura trying to conform with mainstream to sell cars. It's rather boring and unassuming if you ask me - but that's just my opinion....

I never owned one, but I was referring to its being a sales dud. I have met many people who owned one, and they echo your comments. It was a bit ahead of its time and, like the RLX was unloved by the masses.

The masses love the TLX, however, .
