Tampa - Having given up my 2006 RL last November for the SH-AWD, I am guessing that you will quickly transfer your emotional connection! Here's hoping that you do.

By weekend I think it will all soak in. Indeed this has been an emotional experience.
I found it worth the wait .... but you waited 9 months more than me.

As much as i liked my '05 RL, it wasn't hard for me to let it go. I had 10 great years with it but when the driver's inside door handle literally came off in my hand, I made up my mind that the Gods were sending me a message. It was also the same day the Sport Hybrid showed up in the showroom. That along with the test drive lead me to believe the universe had lined up to tell it was time to pull the trigger and not look back. So far, my instincts have proved correct [although it was likely just plain dumb luck]. ].

Yup, that, too. It works well.

A few of us have driven both, but not bothered to compare them in public.

Was there something in particular you were wondering about?

The modern iteration of SH-AWD, personally, I find a little less enthusiastic than the SH-AWD that was on the 4G TL 6-6.

I wanted to know the difference in transmission, steering feel and suspension?

Reg SH-AWD, i hope/wish Acura is preserving sporty characteristics for a future sporty version/s.

It's toned down quite a bit, providing less total torque to the rear, and more gradual transitions left/right. There is less of an uncertain feel on centre, which is something that people coming to Acura from other brands found nonintuitive and attention grabbing.

It's a little less wild than the 4G TL's system, but nowhere near as toned down as the new torque vectoring system on the 2016 Honda Pilot.

I loved my 4G TL, but I have to admit that it turned very quickly and it was not a car for people who liked to zone out traveling the Interstate. You had to pay attention to it in a way you don't have to do with the 5G TLX.
