I saw a Malibu that was ramming through the fire wall, over the curb and then left into the center of the street to burn. Very disturbing and none of this will further the argument to accomplish what they hope to do. Another sad day in our nation's history. MLK would not be happy with this and would have fought to stop the violence so there could be peaceful protests.

Maybe waking up with the State Police and National Guard clearly in charge will help calm things down.

But...also continuing to be scary....

After the Governor declared a state of emergency, the President started interfacing with him, and they alerted Pennsylvania and Virginia because Maryland only *has* 5,000 National Guard for immediate service.

You don't really stop to think about it, but despite Baltimore's size, the state is still really quite small.

Moving the command authority from Baltimore to the State Police...I don't know how much good that's really going to do in the final analysis.

But it's unlikely the State Police are going to exercise the same kind of restraint that the mayor and city police were using. I hope people don't set out tonight thinking they'll get away with what they were doing last night and the night before.

I dont think I would show the same restraint if my business was vandalized or set fire to.

I noticed my former unit, the 28th Infantry Division, headquartered in Pennsylvania, is already in Baltimore.
