Openpilot / Comma AI Support / Driver Assist Upgrades
Anyone have experience with fitting Comma AI's Openpilot hardware on their RLX (or another unsupported model) that has LKAS and ACC? The RLX and TLX is not supported as of yet, but the RDX and ILX is, with what I assume is similar stock driver assist hardware, just need the programming to get it running.
Lots more cars have been added to either official or community support lately, including the RLX.

Comma officially supports the "upstream" cars on the list I linked.
Additional cars have community support. Since their software is open source, community members (like me) have added many more cars. RLX is one of the community ones because it's ACC wiring is more complicated than most other Hondas/Acuras, and comma likely isn't going to manufacture such a low-volume and complex wiring harness.

Due to the compleity of the RLX wiring, there is no off the shelf kit. You'll have to get three parts (red panda plus two nidec harnesses) from comma and then repin (move the wires to different pins) on the harness. If you are up for this let me know and I can walk you through the steps.
Comma Support Wiring for all 2014-2020 Acura RLX
Thank you mvl Pro
Yes. I would like the pin-out swap diagram and re-arrangement diagram.
First, Do you have first hand experience with the results of adding this device to a 2018-2020 RLX that already has " Traffic Jam Assist"? The Honda system is already quite good at driving on its own without touching the steering wheel but every couple minutes.
Can you describe the real additional benefits of the comma 4 from personal experience ?
Thank You

I helped @not_a_doctor get the software for his 16 RLX working. Asked him to reply with experiences and his wiring diagram.
I’m so glad this thread is alive and MVL is here! With his immense knowledge and kindness, my 2016 RLX essentially has highway and traffic autopilot. Lane centering at all speeds, automatic resume from stop, and it can now see when it’s approaching stopped cars and automatically stop. Still perfecting everything, and this is by no means an autonomous system, but it is already incredible. I will make a youtube video eventually on this and will work on a wiring diagram.
In the meantime, it is wired as follows:
You do need two comma nidec harnesses, and one Red Panda. The harness closest to the camera has a passthrough for steering fcan-c high and low, and plugs into comma via usb-c. (The stock Comma Nidec harness does not have wires where that CAN line is and has no way to feed it into the Comma without the Red Panda.)
The second harness plugs into the end of the first and moves the fcan-c high/low lines into CAN 0’s high/low connections and passes through CAN 0 high/low, and plugs into the Red Panda via usb-c. I 3D printed an enclosure since the wiring can be a mess if not well managed, but that is a work in progress. Main goal is to move the FCAN-C high/low lines into a usable input for Comma, and that has to be the slots for Comma’s CAN 0 inputs. Feel free to reach out to me on discord anytime. I’m happy to assist if I can. I’m divergenetic on discord and definitely will get notifications there before I see anything through Acurazine. Please keep in mind: it is possible to damage your car, wiring harness, modules, camera, electronics, create fire hazards, and crash with this stuff. It could be dangerous, so please know the risks. Do this at your own risk. But I love it.
