NEW (to me) 2014 RLX Hybrid Sport Tech

I've chosen this vehicle as my daily ride. I'm not going to get into the specifics as to why as we all know them. Suffice to say, I spent 20500 buying a one owner example with 57k in Nashville and I'm in NJ. I just got the vehicle today from the transporter and I'm about to accessorize it with moldings and splash guards, etc. Then a good detail...Let me just say at 60k new this is a lot of car. At 20k, barely broken in, it is a steal. Happy Fathers Day to me!

I did my due diligence. The car was bought and serviced at one dealer according to the carfax. So I called and spoke to a friendly service writer who gave me the full rundown on the vehicle. It had a full warantee transmission change at 28k, a $10k job, and the complete replacement of the steering column. Other than that, regular dealer service. Everything works as it should. In fact, it drives showroom new. Really tight, smooth, quiet, fast. BTW, drive train warantee lasts to 70k miles.

The original owner traded it in at the dealer next door, the local lexus dealer. His loss is my gain. I figure I've got lot's of good miles for a bargain.

Additionally, I had the "Lemon Squad" go inspect the vehicle. They are a national service and for $150 will give your prospect a complete and honest inspection. This is a service that I would always use before buying sight unseen!
And as icing on the cake this car has an fully installed escort 9500ci system. It is apparently a $2000 radar/gps/laser setup!

Congratulations scottb4u. You got a wonderful car for an even more wonderful deal. If one has the patience to wait and the good fortune to find one, that is definitely the most economically friendly way to buy one. She should have plenty of good years left in her. Enjoy.

Right to the dealer today for splash guards, side molding, door edge film, rear bumper applique, trunk mat, floor mats and the all important and correct spare tire setup for the hybrid with tire and bar included. All parts 25% off and 3.5 hours of labor for accessories. It was fair and the work was excellent. Dealer asked me a million questions about the vehicle and couldn't get over how solid of an example it was.

All in with car 20500, tax 1350, dmv 500, shipping from TN to NJ 750 and accessories 1500= $24500

So your dealer was able to get the bar and brackets for the spare tire? If so can you tell me if they ordered the whole kit (with the bar) or just the bar/brackets separately? And let me know what the pre-discount cost was? Last time I was at my dealer the SH spare tire kit was on backorder nationally, and while you could get the bar/brackets separately, the cost was huge....

thanks! andy

The spare tire setup was shipped from a Ohio dealer to my dealer in NJ. It is the complete kit with bar included. I paid $120 for the kit, $150 for the spare and an hour labor. This was the largest accessory expense and well worth it.

Nice purchase. Congrats on the new ride. I just purchased a 2016 (with 46k miles) a few weeks ago. And I absolutely love it. I got it for below trade in value and is in perfect condition. One owner clean Carfax. I flew out to get it and drove it 1k miles home. It’s alot of car for the money when you buy them slightly used.

Our cars are twins! Except I don't have the mud flaps. It would be fun to get the "birds" together for a picture!

Jealous of any KC2 with a black or brown interior.

In October 2014, the only KC2 that I could find was white/seacoast, and that was that. :-)

I am not a neat enough person and carry children and K9 too often to have a seacoast interior.

My wife, when hoping an RLX CPO would come available, insisted that it HAVE the Seacoast interior. :-) She had the taupe in her TL and wanted something similar in anything she upgraded to. She's not a fan of the black exterior, but if it meant she could have seacoast inside, she just ignores that it's black outside (plus when she's driving she can't tell the exterior color anyway) :-) Yes, it's her car - and if she's happy, I'm happy.

I had Seacoast in my 2014 P-AWS RLX and now have black leather in my 2015 Sport Hybrid. Having had both, I do prefer the Seacoast. I had to keep on top of cleaning but that has never been a problem considering my vehicular OCD. I just enjoyed a brighter cabin and it just felt more luxurious. Also noticeably cooler on a very hot sunny day...

There is something that just stands out to me with a grey or black outside color and a tan or dark brown interior. I have seen that combo on countless BMWs and MB, and it just grabs me every time.

Makes me want to consider picking up one used as my new daily driver. 11 mos left on my TLX lease. That sale price is crazy low! Maybe my plan for a NC1 can wait...

Listen, I've had my eye out for six months, searching every couple of days, nationwide, until I found a one owner example with a good Carfax, preferably serviced where purchased. The least expensive one I saw was $24k, in Chicago and it was bought immediately. This just happened to be priced very low so naturally I thought there would be some issues. I had it checked with my own money and I am happy to report that there are no issues whatsoever, so far in the 1000 miles I've driven!
